DICE doesn't how know to make a game. Hell, they could have made the M95 an anti-tank weapon and got away with it.

So it is fire and forget, but more advanced than your average F&F (AT-4)

lol Now I feel dumber having played BF2. It's the first time I had seen a SRAW and so I was thinking all this time that they were wire-guided

LOL. I say they just put the Javelin into PR (for the dedicated AT) because it can actually lock on to a target.
Wiki wrote:In January 2003, the UK Ministry of Defence announced that it had decided to procure Javelin for the Light Forces Anti-Tank Guided Weapon System (LFATGWS) requirement. Javelin will replace the MILAN system.
Looks like the Brits could use it in PR, as well!
More info on the Javelin:
Wiki wrote:Javelin is a fire-and-forget missile with lock-on before launch and automatic self-guidance. The system which takes a top-attack flight profile against armoured vehicles (attacking the top armour which is generally thinner) but can also take a direct-attack mode for use against buildings or fortifications. The missile reaches a peak altitude of 150m in top attack mode and 50m in direct fire mode. The missile is equipped with an imaging infrared seeker. A tandem warhead is fitted with two shaped charges, a precursor warhead to detonate any explosive reactive armour and a primary warhead to penetrate base armour. Javelin was used in the 2003 Invasion of Iraq.
The missile is ejected from the launcher so that it reaches a safe distance from the operator before the main rocket motors ignite; a "soft launch arrangement". This also makes it harder to identify the launcher and allows it to be fired from within buildings. As soon as the missle is fired the firing team may displace.

The javelin is in most cases, fired with the high altitude mode, as it has better penetration from the top. Its viewfinder is magnified camera I believe, and also works at night (nightvision).

How many rockets can the operator carry? Those things look so huge; I'd imagine he'd carry one.

2 I think, watched a bit about it on mail call. Weighs about 45 lb's total w/ 1 rocket though.

That Javelin is crazy man, I think most have seen that one video of that T-72 getting completely enihilated by it, completely pummeled.

id beleive it, that seems like it just blew up a little TOO much, seems exaggerated.
but one thing about the AT kit....
GIVE HIM MORE AMMO FOR HIS PISTOL!
he has 2 extra clips and one in his gun? i imagine if you only have a pistol, youd carry a bit more then 2 extra clips! give him 3 or 4, i find myself comming into contact with 2 enemies and running out... and im dignified.... ill kill someone with my knife before i start lobbing AT rockets at them

cant.. help it... must.... KILL!!!
i only engage infantry when i know ill have a chance aka their back is turned or if i can sneak up on them, or if im taking potshots and they dont know where i am. and i usually kill my targets 60% of the time, this is why i run out of ammo =)

Hmm, this is an interesting thread. I say give them an mp5 with only the ammo in the gun and that's it. If they attacked they have some means to defend themselves and the lack of ammo would cause them to think twice before just running in. Remember, the AT kit is primerily a defense kit.

Anti-tank players should have to rely on other soldiers for defense against infantry

I realy don't have a problem with the system as is but I can see how the will of the people can change a game.... I think the mp with one clip is a viable solution.

Anti-tank personnel should not be anywhere near enemy infantry. They should stay behind the main force because they can still take on armor at that range.
They don't use an MP5, and they don't need one

are you saying the AT shouldnt even have a pistol cerberus?

No, I'm saying the AT should get a pistol and AT weapon.

Just a comment really. But only for gameplay's (re:fun level) sake, if your playing as AT an entire battle, once you kill a few armored vehicles, there isnt much else for you to do, due to the respawn time of the vehicles. This is especially true if you are staying back in a defensive pos.

Don't play as AT the whole battle then

Give them an automatic pistol, is it the Glock 18c?
