Actualy i found this to be a nice tatic.

Go stealth, kill and enemy, grab his kit, pretend to be one of then and kill even more.

Had a round on Basrah where i was killing Ins with an AK and they didnt noticed i was enemy before i start shooting

Just wondered why u pick up the helmet and gear also when grabbin an enemy weapon ?

Why was it made that way ?
and would ppl in real warfare would do the same?

i just dont get it.
Why would a U.S Marine drop his helmet for a rag ?

Thats the only thing I kinda hate about .85.
So if anyone could explain this .... make my day :-)
Well as being an taleban/insurgent, you can goof enemies with the helmet but in conventional army vs army maps I dont get it.

My question is why a U.S Marine would change his gear in first place? You get a lots of shit if you lose your gear and you may get killed by friendly fire while using enemy rifle. Some people return fire by the sound. (also in real life)

If you loot the gun, you may not have time to take every mag out from the chestrig/vest/whatever and those mags may not fit into your gear so that's very clear thing to me.

FF isn't much a problem if you stick with your squad. Still happens though. But then again, I still get teamkilled even when I'm engaging the enemy with my squad.

In my experience a marine who takes an insurgents' kit and ends up with a red cloth head wrapping has never gotten far enough to do much good before being team killed.

I like the bug. Nothing is more fun tha getting more ambush tactics to use as INS. If a guy with a helmet and rifle from your side jumps out on you in CQB then you are have a delay before you realise that he is actualy an INS in that time you have several holes in your chest. :D

But then I love the new INS kits and maps.

I never pick up the enemy's kits. Wish everybody wouldn't do it. Or better: make it impossible to pick up the other faction's kit.
You should not run out of ammo too soon, but if so you can still call for ammo or resupply yourself at crates.

I only end up with enemy kits if I'm revived after my kit was stolen

But the only problem i've had with the kits (apart from the 5minute breaks of hilarity) are when you get revived my som1 with an enemy medic kit, you see the helmet and think "AAAAAHHHH, THEY ARE DANGER CLOOOOOOOSE" quite irrationally and start shooting ur medic in the face.

This bug is the worst thing in the game imo. This latest release is fantastic. Great new maps/factions and sounds ect but spoilt by this one little bug. I know its not easy to fix but I would prefer if kit swapping with the enemy was simply disabled instead. Make it so it is not possible to even pick up the gun never mind anything esle. Not very realistic either maybe but at least the games would not be the teamkill fest it has been since the release not to mention just how daft it looks, especially the Insurgents with half US/UK gear and half their own.

Not too keen on the fact that players who are shot in the head are now able to be revived by a medic either. A bullet in the head should as it used to be and should always be......instant untreatable death. I also often shoot the same player a dozen times to see a medic creep out from a corner and revive again and again. I would like to see it so that a player can only be revived once then if shot again he has to respawn.

LOL. I was playing Fallujiah West on saturday. I found an enemy weapons cache, blew it up, then took the Al-Quids cause I likes me that gun. So there's lots of US troops in the part of the city we are in and the INS are trying to attack us over the long grass fields. So I run up to a hill, deploy the MG, and start firing with the rest of the team. When I'm reloading I look around and there's this marine just STARING at me with his rifle cause I got the black towel on my head and the Al-Quids. I quickly couch to show him my shirt and shake me head back and forth, letting the guy know I was friendly. Luckily he didn't shoot me and I typed in teamchat a thank you. Ya just gotta take some time to check your targets now.

But man, I could just see the wheels in his head turning as he looked at me. Should I shoot him? Is he an enemy? He's not shooting at our guys. Is he just dense?

in warfare a great deal of "imposter'ing" goes on.

if i had my way there would be a chance that you would take all their gear, or just their weapon. like make it kit dependent; i.e. you HAVE to have a certain kit in order to take their entire kit/uniform.

I thought it was on purpose, too. Of course, I only saw it as an insurgent - other insurgents would pick up the enemy kit and get the gear and helmet too.

Which in that circumstance makes perfect sense.

But Americans putting on a turban? Hmm.

I think it's an awesome effect, I'd rarely swap my kit for some Taliban or insurgent weapon anyway because I know mine's better.

BUT I've had many a "Green Beret" style insertion already just by picking up an enemy kit and infiltrating their midst, at a distance they hardly notice unless theyre looking right at you, great oppurtunity to gather intel

Classic moment playing as MEC, a dude on my team with a Brit kit is in a building behind me firing from a window shouting "enemy!", I'm crouched next to it and don't see where he is, I hear the brit rifle and I spin around looking into the window I see a brit helmet and just let loose with full auto
Me: "AAAAARRRRRGHHHH DIIEEEEE!!!!!..... Enemy down *phew* man that was close"
Him: "dude that was me XD"
Sadist_Cain Teamkills XXXXXX
Me: "Awwwwww F&^* it man!"

So I respawn and get a brit kit come up to the same building with the same dude in it and poked my head through the window...
*BANG*
XXXXXX Teamkills Sadist_cain
Him: "Awwwwww F&^* it man!"

I love it still though lol

Especially SAS units have done it from beginning. (post ww2)

On the subject with picking up enemy gear, I think its pretty realistic. NATO/ISAF specops use traditional clothing to disguise and avoiding detection on long distances. Also conventional soldiers use headwraps or shemaghs for protection from sand.

Taliban warriors has also been seen with enemy gear, like weapons and uniforms.

In PR, the ability to pick up enemy kits improves the realism I think. Sure we have limitations with the game engine, but this simulate also real problems like blue on blue fire and some really scary moments on the battlefield.
