nice, general shape is looking good
One thing I've spotted that looks a little off thou is the headlamp box bits seem a little tall or something right now.
Other than that, looking good.
Also if your planning on looking into the tracks soon, heres a quick tut on them:
Bf2 Track Modeling
Also the wheels on the inside of the track, you need to keep there centre vertex in order for the texture to animate around them correctly.
Hope that helps

Looking good buddy
It is a pretty complex vehicle to model and it looks like you are doing great thus far.
It is so awesome to see what a tiny amount of tutoring and more importantly, your willingness to learn can amount to

na its fine to use it as a reference, I'm sure the POE2 guys will have no problems with it they are all a nice bunch
I dunno why BEEX got worked up ages ago about his jeep being used as a ref but ye...
anyways ye, would definitely recommend checking out the POE2 model (even worth installing POE2 and having a play with it), see how they made it etc, just dont use it

i heard that the armor on this vehicle is pretty weak, they couldnt armor the hell out of it because it does need to travel in water. also i remember in the iraq invasion there was alot of marine deaths in these things from them getting hit by rpgs. anyone know in real life terms how well armored these are?

Would be nice to have a interior but not high priority

thats what she said
But seriously, does this have a commander periscope etc like the other APCs featured in PR? or will there be a differnet driver view.

the driver doesn't look to have a periscope but it dose look to have port holes all the way round.
Thou it will most likley w/e the case have a full 350deg view since even APCs ingame that dont have a full 360deg view for the commander or the driver etc such as the WZ551 have it ingame now.

Motherdear-
These should help you out and hopefully not give you many duplicates. Included are high res overhead pics and some interior photos from the now defunct AFV Interiors site.
http://www.gloryhoundz.com/prmm/users/eddie/AAVP7A1.rar
(55 Megs)
Also, go to
The U.S. Navy and
Marines.mil :: Official Home of the United States Marine Corps and search their photo galleries. Service websites are where I go for nearly all of my high res photo references.
Rhino-
Not just the Mk-19, there's a .50 in the weapons station, too. Don't know if both can be fired at the same time, but it's a hell of a combination punch. The same turret is found on the Army MP's Guardian Armored Security Vehicle.
Dr2bRudd-
The commander and gunner are sometimes one and the same, since the weapon station has the best view. The driver's position is in front left of the vehicle, and the hatch behind it is for the track commander, third crewman or the dismount element leader/commander, and is fitted with periscopes for 360 degree visibility.
All-
Yes, it is huge. It can carry 20-24 Marines with their equipment. One platoon of these (12 vehicles and a command track) is assigned to an MEU ground combat element. This platoon can carry a full rifle company plus attachments (the battalion landing team of the MEU has designated/trained mechanized, boat and helicopter assault rifle companies).

Now that dose sound like a very nice combination
I thought it was just a Mk19 and Coaxial MG

Because of its size.. I reckon we could afford to incorporate it into the logistics chain.

lol, or we just fill it up with 20 ammo boxes, or even better, we fill it up with dope and beer!
