The Mk-12 is in use by the USMC and USSOCOM forces as a designated marksman's rifle.Wakain wrote:I'm afraid I really don't know this rifle, which faction's going to use it?(I guess as marksman rifle?)
Just to add to your question -- it wasn't an extraordinary model or texture -- but it sure was fun.hx.bjoffe wrote:wasn't mk12 in PR 0.4? the silenced marksman? is it still in the files?
Edit: i suddenly saw the answer in an earlier post
The M110 would require some significant modifications to the upper & lower receiver -- it is chambered in .308.DeltaFart wrote:NOw will this be just the USMCs rifle? Cause if the m110 is the USAs and it kind of doesn't make sense, would it?
THough I have to say this looks effin sweet man, great job
Dont think I like teh SPR now that I read that, I don't want to use a marksman kit thats only 5.56 haha me like big bullets[R-CON]ReadMenace wrote:The M110 would require some significant modifications to the upper & lower receiver -- it is chambered in .308.

Well, for it to be portrayed correctly, we would have to have a '5.56 heavy' cartridge in-game -- the SPR is deployed with the Mk262 Mod0/1 that offer superior accuracy and lethality to the standard M855 (62gr) cartridge.DeltaFart wrote:Dont think I like teh SPR now that I read that, I don't want to use a marksman kit thats only 5.56 haha me like big bullets
The Army's M110 (and Marines' Mk-11) is another tool in the box for battalion level sniper teams, not line unit designated marksmen. The Army designated marksmen at squad level (sometimes higher) use M14 EBR or M16 / M4 variants (sometimes accurized, sometimes just with bipods and ACOGs) depending on the unit.DeltaFart wrote:NOw will this be just the USMCs rifle? I thought they were trying to replace the M14 with the M110, for logistics reasons?[R-DEV]Eddie Baker wrote:The Army's M110 (and Marines' Mk-11) is another tool in the box for battalion level sniper teams, not line unit designated marksmen. Nope. If that were the case, they wouldn't have bought new M14s and EBR stocks made to TACOM specifications.DeltaFart wrote:I thought they were trying to replace the M14 with the M110, for logistics reasons?
