The problem with google is that people there are SOOO many tuts out there and it can be very difficult to sort the good from the bad. Additionally it is very likely you will learn things that should NOT be done if you are moddeling for bf2 (Especially when it comes to skinning)

There are literally hundreds of sites out there dedicated to 3D, some of them only on game art. Google links to millions of tutorials and youtube has thousands of beginner tutorials that show all the basics in videos...
Quantity isn't always a good thing. Sorting the good from the bad can be just as much of an issue as finding it in the first place. Oftentimes it takes a trained eye to recognize what tutorials are teaching things the right way and which are teaching the wrong way.

I know it might come off a bit hard but that is the way I started, and within a few days and sticking to some tutorials you are already well on your way. If we had to gather up all the necessary tutorials for modeling/UVing/texturing here - we would be at the same level as the dedicated 3d sites.
The is currently no list compiled of modeling tutorials for BF2. If someone knows of such a list please link it. Any useful tut you find is likely one of the following
-Sorted amongst many other useless tuts
-Not or only partially useful for BF2

If people want to learn this complex trade they should at least be proactive enough to give it a google to see what is what and not expect us to have it served on a silver plate for them.
I think it is a bit unfair to say learning modeling is as simple as doing a quarry on google. It involves a good many different processes and a number of very specific tasks that need to be done just right in order to be successful. This is just for basic export, getting things to pr quality is a whole 'nother story.
I've modeling objects from scratch and exported them successfully to bf2 so I at least have a bit of understanding of how hard it is to learn.
I understand that it would be a lot of work to put together such a list but It would save work for other people on a grand scale. Additionally, I agree that making things easy for people isn't always a good thing, but I passionately believe that when it comes to learning and teaching there is no such thing as making something "to easy to learn".
Just because something has always been done in a certain way doesn't mean it should always be done that way.
