really badly, or a combination of both. I must admit, from my experience this isn't an overly regular occurrence on your server, but thought I would leave some feedback on the matter anyways
Yes, your feedback
is important. Thank you!
We run into problems because players like to play with their friends and we also have another situation where there are "cling ons" that are players that see a few regulars on one team and teamswitch over to be on their side, even though they don't squad with them. It ends up being one team of all |TG| tags and other well-known PR players against "the world". We are trying to stop this, but it is extremely difficult to police this with any effect short of constantly monitoring who is on what team, moving them and then moving them over and over as they continuously try to teamswitch back. I would think we could rely on an individual's integrity, but apparently that doesn't work so well in reality.
Our password nights are usually the best balanced games as we try different things like Pick 'Ems (each team gets a CO and then they draft their team before the round starts) or with scrimmages, where rosters are assigned. We try to run password nights on Thursday night (US Central) or Sunday (starting in the afternoon US Central). These are posted in our PR forums at TacticalGamer.com.
The best solution is for everyone to recognize that there is an imbalance and volunteer to switch to the opposing team after a round is over with to try to help even things out.

And also to try to organize that switching, try to keep experinced players on both teams so that the imbalance doesn't switch sides. And to those that constantly teamswitch just to follow a few players around, please don't. Just try to make some more friends on the different sides and if your team sucks, you are just making the experience even worse for everyone else when you teamswitch off the bad team.

Once you guys left Web we won by a lot.
It was the negative derogatory things that yourself and others kept spamming on the server's chat that was making us loose. As soon as you left we won.

It's an interesting theory, but I rather believe you've got it the wrong way round: our team sucked
therefore I was spamming team chat with negative and derogatory things. Which, fair point, I was very frustrated and I should not have been doing. I will give you that much
However, I was playing on the server for a good few hours before you turned up and I would say the standard of teamwork was
low. Case in point, we lost 3 rounds in a row. Case in point, we lost so badly ChizNizzle felt it necessary to post
this, in a thread about teams not doing what they should.

How many folks were in the mumble SL channel? Mumble is installed with the game and we provide separate leadership channels on TG for mumble that allow the SLs (and CO) to talk with one another free from spamming everyone with force-center. It works out really well, and it allows for coordination of squads even if there isn't a CO.
Trying to coordinate 8 different squads can be a nightmare, but even if you just get 2 or 3 working together it can make a huge difference. The game provides the tools to talk to others; it seems getting people to take that first big step into the unknown is the hardest part and it is easier just to wait for someone else to do it.

Tbh I'm not sure, I didn't check myself, but I did hear some comments to the affect that the mumble channels were basically representative of how things were going, so I assume very few mumblers on our side.
And yes, I am thankful that TG normally has such a strong mumble presence, there's no doubt it's a very powerful tool, and can much improve any round.

The pre-round and early round chants of "we suck" and "there's no chance to win" really kills a teams morale at the start. Instead of hashing out ways to work together, or who should take what objective, all that energy is wasted on Poor me attitude.
If half of the effort that went in to anti team chat spam went into leading the team then you'd never lose.
As for SQs not doing the right thing according to web.
Since you were not CO you had no right to tell anyone on the server what to do. You can ask them, nicely, to do X. You may not "Tell" them what to do, or ***** them out when their not where you want them. At no time are you allowed to yell, scream, degrade, humiliate or generally talk down to anyone at any time on TG. We strive to try and be a mature environment, and the type of behavior you are talking about falls far short of the maturity level we try and maintain.

Indeed, and as I said:
Web_cole wrote:Which, fair point, I was very frustrated and I should not have been doing. I will give you that much
It's nice of you to labour the point so, but I'm sure you'll agree neither of us is perfect. My original point was this came about due to some pretty major teamstacking, and while it would be great if everyone could just rise to the occasion, not all people enjoy commanding or even SLing and it ideally should not be necessary, imo.
Balanced teams = optimal amount of TW on both sides, tough, hard fought rounds, max. fun, min. frustration.

Without teamwork the best 32 players in PR can easily lose to a moderately skilled team with a few skilled players. Commanders and SL's are the foundation of teamwork, of course they are necessary.
If players are focusing on complaining and not how to win they will lose, it happens all the time in any kind of sport and competition. Squad leading and commanding are necessary to get everyone on the same page, if there is no commander the squad leaders must work together to get things done against a team that is organized. 6 players cannot win an AAS map in PR without support, whether it is someone defending the flag behind or another squad assisting with an assault or keeping the enemy tied up.
Just like a commander can make sure that priority objectives are being taken care of (supply runs/adequate defense or offense, spotting and communication) to bring a team together a single player who complains about team stacking can lead a team to give up if the appearance is there. If you start a map thinking you will lose as a team, you will make your prediction come true if the other team is even close to average no matter who you have.
