Re: Aggressive Tactics Not Working

I'd like to give a couple of pointers here. And I'd like to think I'll keep it simple.
Right, as you all should know an assault boils down to 4 simple steps;
1. Preparation of assault.
2. Moving up to targeted assault area.
3. The assault itself.
4. Continued assault.
Now, most people these days fail at point 4. They take the area and bunker down. This is the fail right here. You have the momentum, and you give it up for defending a possible stronghold without any immidiate supplies and backup. This is usually doomed from the start, you might delay the enemy but eventually you're going to get overrun.
But if you manage to survive and backup arrives and you start over at step 1, the enemy is now prepared and is expecting you. Expect a wall of LMG, 40MM, armor, CAS and deployed assets.
How to get around that? Make sure you tell other SLs that they should mop up behind your assault and secure with supplies and assets. The assault, for you, stops when your squad is dead. Never give up momentum for a defensive position. They'll just call down CAS/mortars on your position. Keep pressure up, tempo has to be extremely high. That might sound as stupid buzzwords, but it does work.
Take out FOBs/assets that are hardly defended and overrun the enemy which is not very prepared. Having a high tempo will disorient the enemy and he will be unable to coordinate effective defenses.
The times I've seen SLs bunker down for nothing awaiting supply trucks that never arrive giving the enemy plenty of time to recon your teams forces and call in assets/mortars...
As a attacking force your default position should always be to continue the assault. Unless orderd otherwise, push forward. Switching to a entrenched position will not work.
I'll link to the typical setup we all know too well. You are MEC on Muttrah and you are duking it out with the enemy between the two roundabouts. Standard FOB placements, and you are just waiting for the Cobra/Huey to take you out. Your squad is the green one, black line marks your movement. Assault by flanking, then keep pushing until the enemy is stuck at the carrier.
