america makes shure their apaches are more or less up to date, the most modern version is the ah-64d longbow, but i think the british ones are more "up-to-date".

Okay, renewed to-do list
1. Add the Mi-24
2. Replace the Havoc with the Kamov Ka-50
=====================
Ka-50
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ka-50
...it beat Mil's rival Mi-28 "Havoc" in virtually all the tests in the contest for the Red Army's next attack helicopter.

Damn this thing is a beast.

The hind rocks my world. If it was a woman I'd be all over it within seconds.
I'm all for asymmetry between armies. It'd add an interesting aspect to the game.
+1 for the hind.

I thought that thing was called the aligator or somthing and dont the pilots sit side by side in that...?

The Ka-50 (aka Hokum A, Black Shark, Werewolf ) is one-seated.
The Ka-52 (aka Alligator) is two-seated and the pilots sit side by side.

@geze: i really dont know wether this is true, after all, it´s wikipedia (and i like wikipedia, just sometimes (most times) i would check other sources like fas or airforcetechnology.com too) - though i am gonna look it up (did you know that the havoc has a compartement for a third person? its acutally pretty small and you have not much room in there, was intended for cargo or for rescueing downed pilots)

So you are suggesting adding another spot to the Havoc in game?

Dude, lets skip the Ka-50 and go straight to the Ka-58

Looks like the ugly child of the comanche

And will probably go down the same route, only faster and harder.

hehe no, not really ^^
but i just looked up the hokum...really impressive - got my vote (but i would classifie it as low priority seeing as currently we could be satisfied with the havoc...and perhaps the hind

)

I think that the KA-58 is a joke. Russia is never that open about its military, especially things in development.

Poor Comanche.
So beautiful

The Hokum has been codenamed that by NATO for a reason.
ho·kum n. (hkm)
1. Something apparently impressive or legitimate but actually untrue or insincere; nonsense.
The Red Army doesn't have enough money to produce them plus the tests are probably misleading...Hokum=Comanche.

hokums are in limited use, they have about 20 or so in use (that was several, if not ten years ago - things could have changed by now)
also the special operations departement of the russian airforce requested some of these (aso some time ago) and didnt get them, due to the lack of funding - but seeing as russia gets richer and richer today, i think they might already have a lot of those in use by now
about the comanche - hokum comparison
it´s just totally wrong.
the comanche was a kind of stealth helicopter, though it could punch back, it wasnt very good at taking a beating - and with the latest experience from choppers, who after all turn out to be quiet vulnerable, a thin armored stealth heli might not be such a good idea (or worth the money).
the hokum on the other hand is a straightforward attack helicopter and unlike the comanche heavily armored, the cockpit area for example is 23mm proof
what might be a problem for pr though, is that the thing is a one seater, and i dont know wether it is possible to make guided and not player-controlled anti tank missiles

Makes you wonder how the hell they get transparent material to be 23mm proof.

just use for what they have in the fighter-bomber secondary seat in vbf2, the lock-on thing
