Only criticism is that I'd put a little more grass on it, looks like a strange urban oasis which I can't imagine is geographically possible, probably wrong on that though. Love that it's going to be in the pretty pretty sunset, really liked the sunset version of Dalian back in the day, and this will be a better map so you win
His scenario is that the region is suffering from desertification, which is basically temperate land shifting into desert. Check these links.

I like this a lot; even if only because it looks like the maps from the BF:V mod "Dice City"

How about Encroachment for a the map name, since that is what is happening to the town, by both nature and the US forces.
As far as the grass, I think it is the bright green that is throwing people off. Is there a way to darken the green?
As far as plants in an area like this, remember, this area was the site of the Gardens of Babylon. Maybe there should be a big river flowing in a part of the map.
Really looks awesome though, and hope it makes it into a release.

This looks like a fantastic map. I don't care what it's named, as long as I get to shoot some people in it.

the wooden barns don't fit into the arabian look of the map, replace them with something else

Those wooden houses feel too old, and dont fit the setting. Try to keep it modern.

looks a bit too 'artificial' at some areas for my taste... maybe add some more streets that are not alligned to the grid (from north to south/ west->east) if you know what i mean..
..but maybe that's just me
also i'd say bring a bit more variety into the rocks in the 2nd pic. especially on the left side.

i second that, i'd say replace the russion objects with middle eastern ones.
the valley with the dense vegetation's looking great!
my 2 cents so far, keep up the good work - all in all it looks really promising!
