I have seen them on SAWs (british army website) and i have often seen somehting that looks similar to a SUSAT on the british GPMG. So haa.
BUt i can see you point, it is mainly for longdistance firing.

That's what they are for. Saw's, and 240's.
It's mainly to get a group of rounds to fall in a certain area. Helps you adjust for bullet drop. Most of the time you don't even need it, just open up and follow the tracers.

See those linear yellow segments that come out of the machine guns? Those are tracers

Top_cat, have you ever even played BF2...
In fact, what military knowledge do you have, to base all these new class suggestion on.

it would be good if they where more visible.. kinda.. they sorta appear 30 metres away from the gun.. unless thats realistic or something wich it might be.

... i find it hard to take that comment seriously, i mean.. everytime i play BF2 not a minute pass by without machine gun tracers zipping left and right butchering ppl like grinding machine.
and btw, i beg of you, please.. fix the vocab and grammar a bit, i don't know, open MS word or something and type what u want to say and then post the fixed version of it, i mean i can still understand slangs fairly simple... but this is a bit...

In vBF2 there are no tracers on regular rifles (M4, AK47 and such).
In PRMM 0.3 all LMGs / HMGs / Assault Rifles have tracers.
Pistols, Sniper Rifles and SMGs do not have tracers.
This is in 0.3 and uh.... looks really f'in cool at night when a lot of rounds are flying
We had to enable tracers for all maps, not just night maps... but they come in handy in the day as well.

I had noticed them, but I never realised they were absent in vBF2, but then again everyone uses LMGs in vBF2.
It's good to see where shots are coming from, and I'll enjoy seeing them at night.

i reason i dont suse MS word more often is cos it starts an installation thingy, i installed it proper i thought!?! And this process take about 50 seconds, once it has done one, another MS word can be opened up very quick - any explanation, i am a noob atimes when it comes to certian comp stuff.

Cancel the installation request, it does nothing. Nice off topic post.
Keeping this topic on topic, are any of the devs willing to give us any comments about future class changes? There's a lot of speculation about the whole kit changing idea, but I don't think we've actually had word on anything that could be going ahead.

tracers would be fun with night time maps if it was simular to the old falklands videos where its pitch black apart fromt he tracers and explosions zipping through the sky
