'[R-DEV wrote:Hitperson;1049730']and remember people the BF1942 engine and the BF2 engine are NOT!!! the same. just because it can be done in one doesn't mean it can be done in the other.
Aren't they? I thought they were essentially the same thing just utilised differently.

Arnk, that was sarcasm, right?
The C-130 mechanics in the DC mod for BF42 are impossible with the BF2 engine, but that's not to say airlifting vehicles is impossible either

Yeah, Go look at C.A.'s new Plane lift, or check out on the Official BFEditor - Home and look for a vehicle lift.

So, It is possible to airlift vehicles in the engine. That link wouldn't load up for me.
IRL, Doesn't the CH-47 Chinook helicopter or some other variant airlift vehicles?

Maybe we can change the way vehicles spawn on the map?? By letting them get dropped on the airfield like so:
They did it in FHSW too. If only these maps could be large enough.
cool!
Is this FH1 or FH2??????

It is a minimod for FH1. The Dev's are Japanese and apparently are still at it.
The BF2 engine does seem a little finicky to do this. Collisions can be random and violent... even when they are small fenderbenders with objects such as tree stumps. I know OPFP had this helicopter add on ( I think it was the big Soviet transport, the Mi-26). Anyway, the vehicle would "lock in" whenever the helicopter was started up. It would only be released at the copilots command.

i would never ever ever have a C-130 in PR. i would however have an AC-130 under certain circumstances. heres one, it should be light up like a christmas tree at ranges up to 2000 meters, and the same view distance for it too. AA should be able to lock onto it from far away. have it so that it can crash but not take off from dirt, instead have the whole "pysically out of commision" (like 0.86 helicopters) part of the long respawn time. Have it linked to an objective, like a final flag or somthing. for instance if US was to get it, they would either need to be on the MEC Outpost flag or the US Outpost flag. And i would limit the ammo and fuel. however, it would be an excellent way to finish off a crippled team without the long arguous torment of base rape. just finish off the tickets in one foul unlimited swoop.
Im sure other teams would have their equivilant weapons to devistate. like insurgents get 25 suicide vests when they are on their last cache. or the chinese get 2 minutes of full map UAV. or MEC can go invisible when prone. dang, i think i just had a brainstorm. I CALL DIBBZ! ITS MY IDEA IF IT GOES AHEAD!!! but we all know those wont happen.
anyways, here check this out. AC-130 on a map not dissimilar to kashan. its really old though. (BF2 mod)
Dcon won't give up their AC-130. I remember PR:CA trying to get a hold of it in exchange for their FLIR or something, and they wouldn't budge on the trade.

It is a big target. In D-Con AA was straight fire. With locking AA and increased damage, it would be hard to keep up.

there is a good reason why the AC130 is ONLY used by night and in areas without ANY AA

Because it's big, grey and shiny!
What else can do as a beatiful target in the sky?
