more damage shooting the engine block -yes
disabling vehicle - like apcs and tanks once the health is low it stops .... this would be perfect, players could leave the vehicle before the explosion

+1 i agree that this should be implemented. at 30% health it is extremely unlikely for a vehicle to be still functioning. Really the fully functional to piece of scrap crossover is a major flaw in PR that could be fixed by this. Thats why hardly anyone uses Transports anymore because when it gets hit by an RPG or IED everyone instantly dies instead of the real life situation of people bailing out and some having injuries.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in another thread, but if this were possible, perhaps it could be an idea to bring the combat engineer back into play by allowing it to repair vehicles, but only up to say 50-55% to get the engine working enough to be able to make it back to base? Give them a pair of wire cutters or something to defuse mines, traps or IEDs. I think it's fairly realistic to assume that a combat engineer would be able to open the bonnet of a humvee, do a quick fiddle around and get the engine running again at least. In order to fully repair the vehicle, get a vehicle repair crate from a logi or take it back to base?

Unfortunately it isn't possible to have a handheld "weapon" that repairs (like the shovel or the spanner/wrench), or even a repair object like the repair drop, repair only up to a certain HP level :(

It may be possible via python but the code to get it working would be pretty tricky and the steps to repair it would be a bit odd etc.

maybe have a Crewman specialist? that you can only request from APC,IFV and tanks.

Crewman specialist have wrench or just add a wrench to crewmans since IRL they can repair there tank in the field but ofcourse they have the proper tools and equipment for it IRL.

This is the good thought and it is the most helpful for the recovering the vehicles. So, this is then reused it. That is the at least the we can cure it.

This is the good idea. So, we can repair the vehicle and reuse. This is the harmful information by the user. And at least the user can go it the solved them.

This is a really needed addition to PR because the fact that being in vehicles is so unsafe is hampering to gameplay especially insurgency but also AAS games as well. The death traps that vehicles essentially become in PR is denying players the values of teamwork in convoys and Armour platoons etc. Damage to players inside the vehicles and reduced artillery IED explosion radius would also be necessary for this to work. Really I can not see any reasons this could damage gameplay and as far as i can see it looks like it would only enhance it. Is there any reason this wouldn't be possible?

crew automatically ejected at 90% damage?

so IED for example becomes a light vehicle stopping device, the crew are inside ready to be ambushed.

also: light vehicle is speeding past HMG on AAS. it could be brought to a halt.

is it possible to have an auto eject script at 90% damage i think this would be great most likely they would die but not always kinda like the helicopter going down.

slight delay on the 90% damage auto eject would be cool also so if HP are taken in one no crew eject.

BUT MAYBE ...... it is possible .... remember we are talking all seats not just one disappearing.

if your sure thats a real shame, still 50% light vehicle stop is cool.

this would make light vehicles survivable i know we have flames at the moment, but it also stops them being rush machines

Yeah I don't think that would be necessary anyway i think having RPGs bracketing on your disabled vehicle should be enough of a motivator to get out.

Also a random algorithm could trigger the explosion or not when the life hits 0... some vehicles explode when hit by bullets others not...or have some extra life in the vehicle when it reaches the stopped+on fire state... taking a little bit more damage or time to explode.

a crewman kit with no weapon just a wrench could be implemented , the guys could request then in light vehicles , with a limitation of two per squad make the repair slow, so it takes at least two people to get the vehicle running... once it reaches like 50% the "healing" could be even slower, making the players go back to the main to finish the repair.

Maybe for repairing light vehicles, instead of the repair station from a logistical truck, we could implement something similar to the light Supply Crate in v1.0. Something like a repair kit from a transport car (g-wagon, humvee, troop trucks, ammo techies etc) that would have much less repairing ability than a repair station but has just enough to make light vehicles moving again.
That way logistical vehicles don't need to be used riskily to repair something like a g-wagon.
Along with combat engineers' wrenches, I think that this suggestion could work.

Why wouldn't it be? If armour can get tracked, other vehicles should as well.
