I have to agree with McLuvMcLuv wrote:My personal philosophy is that cussing at people is simply a display of one's lack of vocabulary.
As to doing it on servers, that's to the discretion of the owners. For instance, our =DaM= servers have a swear filter on in-game chat. We do promote ourselves as a family-friendly clan, which is why we run it. All the same, you may find even a few of us letting out a swear on VOIP, but never directed at anyone.
I understand that in the heat of the battle, its easy to let one fly loose, and that's why we've been pretty forgiving of people auto-banned, but for the most part the only people banned because of it are smacktards who didn't bother to read the rules or simply ignored them.
I've played on several servers, and there's no difference in teamwork and cooperation between some of the best servers that allow cussing and ours.
this tooJust throw the words at your mic or screen or whatever. Why spend the time to actually type what you thought of and have shouted out loud already?
on voip it happens i guess...
its really i think about the typing of it. to take the time to add extra letters in an sentence is moronic IMHO. if you are that mad about a sniper or vehicle you probably just got gorked again by wasting the 5 seconds to use those "big boy" words.
it really simple you violate the rules... you don't play there and you frequent another one
that is how player bases develop
as far as the =DAM= server goes, i have yet to see someone go off on a childish cursing rant. i been playing on it almost exclusively for 3 months now too
