pretty impressive, but, what textures size/polycount are you using? it seems 9Kpolys with 4096tex, a little bit too much

No, it's really much higher. BF2 runs without a problem on my PC, PR is a pain at the moment.

lol yeah, it was the same deal for me, the moment i realized i couldnt play when 0.8 came out i immediately went to my "source" and picked up a new Geforce 9800 gt for $80 can.

Tricount is below 6k and the texture is 2048x2.

a 2048x2 texture jesus christ, i assume that that is a normal and a diffuse, and then that you have a spec next to that ?

2 textures, diffuse and normal, specular is the alpha channel in diffuse and opacity is the alpha channel in the normal texture.

affirmative :) always good to know that stuff since i haven't had much time working with textures yet, but 2048 is huge lol, but i guess that since it's 1 player it's fine :)

Although its very pretty, and I can't wait to use it, I very much like the current MEC LMG, and with a scope it would have been perfect. Its sad to let it go. If the current LMG is discarded and is replaced with the apparently less CQC effective MG3, I think the MEC will lose a solid CQC weapon (which they lack). It'll hamper my preferred way fighting with the MEC LMG. Although frankly I scarcely use the LMG, but still.

My suggestion is that the current LMG would become the optics version, while the MG3 would be reserved as the ironsights LMG for the MEC. It would give some diversity to their weaponry, i suppose. MEC is after all a multinational force of somekind, perhaps a little haphazardly formed (so they might not have 100% uniformity), and IIRC, even the US military has more than one LMG type.
