Cant wait to test it out. Maybe a server will play it every once in a while.
There should be a brit version of the al basrah v2, though.

The current status is "done".
I update the map only if there are incompatibilities with the lastest PR release.
Regarding map pack: I don't know.
You did very nice and realistic changes to [R-DEV]duckhunt hit map. You changed many statics and textures and it's almost like a new map with the fun and gameplay of the former one. It has also an Iraqi feeling, nice job on that.

I thought it was very hard to modify old maps because you had to re-do all the shaders and all?

Remember back when we played this beast with 20+ people. It should seriously replace the current basrah. It's superior in every way.

i disagree...current basrah is one of very few decent british maps..my suggestion is to get brits back on it.... dont wanna be left with burning sands alone

Back in the days, when I started this event project in 2009, there were reasons to change the faction to U.S..
But I don't mind today and even agree with you.
I could revert it easily to brits and make it compatible with official PR gameplay standards.
But there is no sign that this advancement will ever make it into PR.

maybe if you PM the creator/or the mapper team leader and explain your improvements, i see no reason why they shouldn't accept it...since its basically an overhaul

Since the topic is "hot" again:
I showed this to a friend of mine and now EVERYTIME we play Basrah he whines about how much he wants that version instead of the original...with minor changes though...and I have to fully agree.
I mean put back the Brits, remove the constant spawns in the VCP areas NE and SW and we are golden - this version is indeed way better than the original. More cover, nice foliage, nice lightning, etc.
I really hope it makes it in!!!

Al Basrah v2 build 51 has been tested with PR 0.98. There are no issues.

Quinling, Dragon fly, Fools road, Ochamchira, Burning Sands, Ghost train, Shijia Valley, Vadso. Holy shit 8 maps is not enough?

Besides British is one of my least favorite factions

Also, were the Canadians, Germans and French in Basrah? You'll see the point I want to get.
