As a gunner you rely on your driver to keep you aware of everything in your immediate vicinity. On the other hand as a driver it's your job to know everything that is going on around you, and have a good idea of what the enemy threats are up to. Otherwise you will just tumble out into the open and get slaughtered every time because you're a big loud attention magnet asking to get blow to smithereens.baptist_christian wrote:But my situational awareness in a tank is TERRIBLE.
Move from safety of cover to safety of cover ALWAYS, never get caught moving on open grounds, and always try to stay oriented towards the enemy but just behind a ridge/in a depression/in some kind of cover. It's actually not all that different from being an infantryman that has to rely on his buddy to shoot or walk for him, so you need a good reliable driver to be the ears and eyes of a tank which can make it a lot more difficult to play then infantry.
I personally find people do not listen enough, you can hear fairly far distances in this game, especially in built up areas.
I'd estimate that situational aware accounts for roughly 75% of all of my kills as inf, and damn near 100% of my kills as a tank gunner. It's an aspect of the game a lot of new players overlook due to lack of patience and over-eagerness to get into a fight.
