Crash once map loads
Hey,
I just installed .96 and had no problems installing/starting-up until I went to join a server. I usually get to 92% complete loading and map, and then PR crashes and that's it. No error message or anything. I'm sure this has been talked about before, but does anyone know whats up?
Specs:
680i
Q9550 @ 2.83
4GB RAM
2 x 280GTX

Re: Crash once map loads
Same issue. My game only crashes when i try to load Shijia Valley. I had the MekRpr Map Pack installed, uinstalled that, but game still crashes..
I tried to lower my graphic settings, but it did not help.
Suggestions? or is a total uinstallation the only solution?

Re: Crash once map loads
It seems to be a performance issue. I put my settings on extreme low, (we talk 3 pixels here!) and was actually able to load Shija Valley. I read somewhere that it was the same problem with Burning Sand, namely that the map is too detailed etc. which demands good performance from your machine.
Many of my fellow teammates experienced allot of lag yesterday, playing Shija Valley, so it seems to be a general performance issue..

But a graphic memory of 1Gb and new intel-processor with 4Gb ram,,,, I don't believe my machine is the issue. I also had the same problem with burning sands.
I also now experience CTS between the games,,, with other maps.

Yeah I really find it hard to believe that its my machine is the issue either, could be totally wrong though!
I wonder how many other people are having this problem and haven't reported it yet.

Re: Crash once map loads
Welp, I cranked everything to low and had no problems, which is a huge bummer since I ran prior version on highest settings with no problems.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Re: Crash once map loads
Do a general optimizing of your virtual memory. That seems to be the main reason for CTD.. So go into task perfomance, check running programs see if something need optimizing, and worst case, get more memory. At least that is what i will do..
