[Help] xbox controller in PR

Post by Insanitypays »

I think there may be a way to do this but it will involve breaking open the bf2 folder...and I dont know much on this subject, anyway-

Recently hooked up my 360 cntroller to my PC, works great for vehicles but there are two problems that I might need to address in opening my bf2 folder and nosing around (most likely the one in documents) I just dont know where to start. First problem is that the 2 triggers dont work, i dont mind that one but it would be great if I could fix it, the other is that there is no way to change my look controls, I can move and shoot and cycle weps but I cant look, there is no changeable value for it in the control menu either, thanks for putting up with my newbiness anyway

Have you tried mapping the triggers to a certain key?

X-Padder. Google it. If you run Windows 7 than you'll needed version 5.7.

Map your buttons and triggers work too. I use my controller when I play PC games on the big screen/couch.

Thanks i got it working using x-padder, sucks that I had to pay for it though, think microsoft should really work on that. oh, and kaizer that is exactly what im doing, my mouse and keyboard are both wired so I just grabbed a 360 controller :p

I think theres some stuff out there free for xp users so youre quite lucky warrior...

Ok, last question for tonight for me-is there a way to map multiple keys to one button at once without using the 1-2-3-4etc?

thanks anyway, im glad this didnt end up as a pc vs console war, why cant we all get along :p

Then you can use the freeware version of Xpadder that is out there if you're running XP or Vista 32-bit. Windows 7 and 64-bit OS users need version 5.7 though.

Game pads for PC has been around as long or even longer than consoles, so controllers have nothing to do with consoles though most people associate the two respectively. Mouse and keypad will always be the preferable method of control though.

You can set toggles, multiple commands to one button, etc. but I don't used much of that besides toggling my crouch so you'll have to go to the Xpadder site/forums to get the tutorials on that.

As far as weapons go I set my right bumper to Mouse wheel down and press it to scroll through my kit inventory. It takes awhile to get use to at start but I can now pull out whatever I need as fast as I can with the actual mouse wheel.

Hope that helps.
