Custom Build: Budget Gaming

Post by PricelineNegotiator »

Hey there!

Tell me what you think. This is my build that I will be ordering near Black Friday. I am open to any criticism and hope I hit the nail on the head with this build. Hopefully it can play BF3 on max!

Thats pretty badass "budget" build. :D

About mobo ASUS RoG GENE-Z is maybe better option. It have already built in pretty nice sound that sound card is not needed. You might save a bit. This little thing is 98% the similar to standard ATX board and is pretty badass at overclocking and so on. That thing is a beast...

Everything else looks nice.

Take away the Creative sound card and use the extra cash to upgrade the GPU.

Honestly I had a Creative titanium X-fi Fatality edition, and well, it did not do much at all to either FPS or sound quality (it actually made it worse by adding cracking and white noise and multiple driver issues causing BSODS etc..) The sound from onboard soundcards are great nowadays, and with EAX not being used much any more, there is not much going for buying it.

Other than that suggestion, good build but not what i'd call budget :P

Exactly what Pedz said, take away the sound card and get a better GPU. You can get 6870 or even with little extra cash get a 6950. On board sound is not that bad anyway, CPU is excellent and ram is good too.

Got it fixed. Some recommendations were considered and this is going to be the final build, but most likely some items will be swapped out for similar performance and price if they go out of stock before November, which they probably will.

That is an excellent gaming rig, good choice of GPU. The 6950 will give you huge increase in performance over the 6850, the 6950 also has bios switch so you can flash it to unlock the shaders and clocks to a 6970 giving you even more performance!
