You request other kits from crates instead of spawning in with them, generally.

There we go.

Because armies tend not to give everyone a different gun ;)

Please read the manual, everything is explained there. The kit system especially is very complex, you really shouldn't jump right into the cold water. If you have any questions that the manual cannot answer, we'll of course help you out.

Not sure if that's still going on right now, but there was a project to introduce new players to PR as well, the thread might still be somewhere around here. But anyway, the manual should answer such questions.

Edit: Here. Updated today: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... ining.html

Left clicking on the request kit menu generally gives you a scoped weapon, right clicking generally gives you a red-dot or ironsight-equiped weapon. Thought you ought to know.

Also, unconventional forces (militia, insurgents, taliban, hamas) have a wider variety of weapons for different classes, for obvious reasons.

First off.

Don't get all cocky with class's.

You can't always get sniper kit, OR the AT kit.
Reading the Manual helps 3400x better then advice in game. Although SOME will help, just read the manual.
Don't be a noob, don't be a jerk.

Be a MAN.

What you think PR is:

It's not like you go to the grocery store at your local US ops base, pick out your favorite gun, roll it around in rails and attachments then send you off to iraq =P

1.RTFMN
2. Most conventional factions have the same weapon, in order to make training, supply, etc easier and more efficient.

you generally spawn with the faction's standard weaponary, we are depicting regular (rather than 'special') forces in PR, thus the weapon choice is limited to those parameters.

However specialised weaponary is requestable from vehicle depots, supply crates and APCs.

Some forces use varients of their primary weapon as their class weapons, e.g. the Brits use L86s as a marksman rifle which is a varient of the l85 (the primary weapon) whereas the USMC use m16s as their primary weapon and the M14 as their marksman rifle.

Each team has their distinct flavour

Perfect answer, complete with absolutely no sarcasm or condescension.

It is possible!

I've also changed the thread title to be more descriptive

please remember to make your thread title descriptive so the right people can answer your question

it also helps people with the same question find the information they seek

Yes, there is a reason I do not play BF2 anymore; oh wait, there were so many reasons that I do not even remember the details.

Some of th trolls don't seem to realize there are also limited kits on the spawn screen when joining a COOP server. Maybe the OP just started playing in deployment and was busy learning stuff on COOP? That could possible give us a clue about his rather simple question.

This brings me to another point, since COD has become the disease of the gaming industry, it looks like many of the PR memebers have been infested too. Everyone just keeps pumping COD jokes around thinking hes cool :D

To mention few of the posters here: Dev1200, Maverick and Spec. Congratulations guys, you have been nominated for the troll of the year award, this is your day boys.

what's spec doing on that list? it appears to me that he was genuinely trying to help the guy.

anyway, I'm always surprised to see pages of same comments and trolling in response to questions like these, while in principle only one person should be needed to point the new guy to the manual. maybe next time?
