CTD when trying to join server and windowed mode doesn't work

Hi, I'm on windows 7 with a radeon 6850, 8gb ram, and a phenom II x4 945.

For starters, windowed mode doesn't work. I add +fullscreen 0 to the target and it's still fullscreen. I figure getting it into windowed mode is important considering when i crash i get a windows error sound.

And the crashing, when creating my own server and playing with and against bots the game works fine. But when i go into the server list and double click on a server, i crash to the desktop. I've tried reinstalling PR, lowering graphics settings, and that font fix, but all to no avail.

Are you sure you downloaded the latest PR and BF2 patches?
You need Battlefield 1.5 and 1.41, as well as Project Reality 0.97 to play on deployment server.

To get windowed mode working make sure your "Target"-field of the shortcut looks similar to this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +fullscreen 0 +szx 1024 +szy 768

I can launch and play Battlefield 2 without a problem, and when in BF2 it says im on patch 1.5.3153-802.0

I did download all 3 parts of the .97 full install, i redownloaded them as well and did a clean install of PR and BF2 (making sure to patch to 1.41 then 1.5 before i installed PR).

What stumps me is that I can play all the maps on singleplayer without a problem.

Verizon FIOS?? hmm.. Make sure you are running the game as admin. No compatibility mode. It is strange that you can run the singleplayer maps.. i would say router issue but thatwouldn't make you ctd.
