Launching takes forever (delete favorite servers)

Hey folks!

If launching takes forever it's because BF2 checks your favorite servers for being online or not.

I had this once, but I cant find the thread...

What to do again, if I dont want this? Something to do with config files and making them "read only"... Please help me out!

Search for the "General.con" in

C:\Documents and Settings\*******\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000X
or
C:\Users\*******\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000X

open it with WordPad or NotePad and delet all entries starting with:

"GeneralSettings.addServerHistory"

like this one:

"GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "217.146.93.112" 29900 "*** MeRkpr.co.uk TEAMWORK SERVER ***" 140"

If you dont want any favorites you can write protect the General.con

Excellent thread, I deleted those entries and the game start-up time improved drastically.
