Game won't start when I set desktop Resolution to 1920 x 1080

This is really bugging me. I have a 27" Asus monitor with a native Resolution of 1920x1080. However, I have to set the desktop Resolution at 1680 x 1050 to play the game because if don't then PR goes to a black screen and just stays there. The black screen occurs right before the words PR are suppose to fly in at the beginning, but instead of continuing to where the words flying in, it just stays a black screen. At the moment I do have the game working, but it's at a cost. My desktop Resolution is set at 1680 x 1050 and it's pain to look and it also makes reading text a nightmare because it's blurred. I cannot simply revert back to using 1920x1080 just to do things on my desktop because the game screw up after I do this - Because It then decides not to start at any resolution I set my desktop to. Does anyone please have any ideas as to why me Desktop Resolution is affecting this game when it starts? Thankyou!!

Refresh rate - frequency? Check your video.con

There should be line there in for of 1680x1050@NNHz

Also try deleting shaders folder in My documents\BAttlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

maybe delete a video profile too?

Refresh rate - frequency?

When I change the resolution in the nvidia contol panel under PC to 1920 x 1080 (native,) for some reason I get another option come up which automatically changes to this > HD, SD with the resolution of 1080p, 1920 x 1080. I am then only able to get a refresh rate of 59Hz instead of the 60Hz, but I am told this is normal for the Unitedkingdom.

Hm, find a file called video.con in C:\Users\username\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\NNNN and edit it manually to look like this. Dont change other values then "VideoSettings.setResolution"

Better go trough all profiles folders and edit all Video.con files or check your profile.con first to see if that's profile you use currently.
