Sooo I just got a new laptop after not being able to play PR in months, and I really want to play. Everything with BF2's install seemed to go fine, other than when trying to apply the v1.5 patch it said I had a new version installed for some reason.

Anyways on to my very annoying problem that has me stumped: When I launch BF2, the splash screen shows up, and a few seconds before it would normally show the EA & Dice logo's & stuff, the screen goes black, changes shades of black once or twice, and returns me to desktop with no error messages or anything.

I've tried everything other than completely re-installing BF2, changing compatability settings, restarting, everything I could find on google, but to no avail. I assume it has something to do with Windows 7 but I'm not entirely sure.

If anyone has a possible solution or suggestion to this problem please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone has the patching order up to v1.5 for BF2 I would ruv you rong time, seeing as it always confuses the hell out of me.

alright so go to users folder then my documents and delete batlefield 2 folder there

launch battlefield 2 create account( you deleted the prevoious one)

launch PR and have fun

a ton of people had the same issue

2) Load up, test if it works
3) Install BF2 patch 1.41
4) Load up, test if it works
5) Install BF2 patch 1.5
6) Load up, test if it works
7) Install PR parts 1->2->3 & mumble 1.04 beta

It should prompt? Sometimes ppl don't do it, and anyway I skip it...I like to do it manually - control
