Possible cache locations on Karbala

Post by CommunistComma »

I find that when I play Karbala as blufor, which is 100% of the time because I can't play that map as INS, I find my team circling the city searching for the purple shield. This is because the possible cache locations are not not numerous enough.
Karbala should have an increased number of possible cache locations IMO.

Perhaps you'd like to drop in some coordinates for new locations that you think would be suitable? Although that might make it a suggestion, so perhaps you're right in not saying anything... :?

There is no harm in suggesting anything that is the product of feedback discussion.

I too outlined it some time ago that the map is too easy for the US but to my knowledge it has not been edited at all. As an Insurgency map its just not as solid as others.

If I had a nickel for everytime we had won a match of Karbala simply by checking and rechecking....
+1 on this although it's definitely been suggested before. The problem with the map is that if it wants to obey the cache spawn rules, they're pretty much going to end in more or less the same area. A third of the map is desert, another third is the isolated complexes and villages around the edges, and the rest is the central city. Unless the cache's start spawning in the middle of the desert, they're going to end up in the same areas.

Sorry if there's been a post of this manner already, I confess I don't spend an overly large amount of time on the forum
It'd help if there was more caches in the city, instead of the outlying areas.

The only reason I suggest this is I'm sure there's under 100 possible cache locations on that map, as compared to hundreds on other INS maps.

The only way the insurgent team can win in Karbala is if the US team is absolutely retarded. Not only are the caches predictable and most often than not in locations easily destroyable by the Abrams or infantry covered by a single Stryker (let alone 2, an Abrams, a CROWS Humvee and 2 Kiowas) but the US has so many heavy assets that if manned by half-capable crews they simply obliterate the insurgents. Insurgents should get an SPG technical at the very least (and even then...).

+1 for truth.

Yeah, we should definitely add more caches to the map, it'd make it harder for the blufor to win. Also, we should remove one kiowa, as there are way too many assets.

No priceline you are wrong about removing kiowa

If anything they should put it back on the original air assets to make it more fun

I belive they use to have 2 transport littlebirds that could carry 5, and 1 apache

These assets i used to have so much fun with, Every rooftop in karbala is made for landing those littlebirds on top

Spec ops missions all day....... the good old days..

Now this is just silly.

(I had to make quite an effort not to get a infraction replying to this.)

Trouble with the Kiowas is that nobody on Ins team ever plays AA. Hence they do one run with no lock and know it's open season on the range.

Spent ages one day trying to both Squad Lead and make sure someone in my squad had an AA. Nobody wanted to do it, the **** that I made pick it up from main ended up not getting out of the techie that I told him to arrive in, instead gunning, dieing, and never using the kit (and prohibiting others from using it).

On Kokan it's the opposite for some reason. Every lonewolf wants AA and takes it away from the cache with their favourite ammo car.

Really frustrating sometimes in both cases.

Biased map in my opinion, US not winning that is as rare as them capping west beach on Pavlovsk Bay. Loads of heavy assets and a lot of open terrain around urban areas making it difficult to take out anything that has thermals and optical zoom.

Another major problem with that map that I have not seen posted yet is the lack of an Arty IED kit (or two). For a map with heavy armor assets, not to mention the rest of the assets, the absence of this kit is an additional kick in the teeth to an already battered Insurgent team.

Karbala needs a major overhaul to be sure.

It does have an arty IED kit, introduced in last update. Still not enough imo.

As others where saying: Almost never seen INS win on this round except yesterday night on CIA...ong, to everyone who was there...this shit was hilarious!

------------

The US lost the tank (about 10 min into the game), multiple strykers (shortly after), crows, etc. pepe and if IRC did not take down one open cache...just the one Unknown 4 min into the game which was ghosted (we knew about it - they agreed). OC I have to say, later it came out that the guy that wasted the tank switched to the ins team... :( ... so it was probably just to ruin their game. What a *********!

And what I have to say aswell: The enemy team was really, no seriously, really, really bad.

------------

Other than that Karbala is not to win for the INS! Funny game though...

I played Karbala today, and manned the Abrams. Teamwork was certainly not optimal. The INS managed to strand all (yes, all) of the US's armor assets on the east side of the river for a solid 20 or so minutes, and the US still won with over 300 tickets. The map needs to be changed to force the BLUFOR to actually penetrate the city with armor support. At present, it allows the armor to stand off and not work with the infantry.
