Vietcong -Connection Timeout

Introduction:
Hello. Human_001 here. I have searched this topic on google, found the site claiming to be official site for Vietcong, read their FAQ and topic related to my problem, but I can not figure out solution so I would like to ask for help from PR users.

Vietcong is Multi/Single player FPS game from mid 2000s about Vietnam War. Game is very old and Maker no longer even have support for this game.

Question:
My question is how to fix Connection Timed out when connecting to / creating local server.

-I started to have this problem after I Clean Installed my PC. Before that I did not have this problem.
-I also have Anti-virus software, but I had this before and did not cause problem.
-I also unplugged DSL tower for long time before Clean Install so it could defaulted the firewall setting, which I don't have slightest idea what is going on.
-When I try to connect to server / create local server, "Connection Timed out" shows up at Instant I click Connect so it seems to me it's some setting within Vietcong. Result are same without Ethernet cable connected to my PC even before I start Vietcong.

On FAQ page it said something about changing Port number, which I do not have knowledge about and don't understand.

If any of you out there knows solution to this problem, I would like to ask for help.

This FPS was first and only FPS I played besides BF2. And I would like to revisit Vietcong Multiplayer maps. And not being able to create local server is devastating.

Off topic- Has PR developers looked at this game before? Although I can not be responsible for copyright etc or have much knowledge about it, it have quite few voice for Viet cong faction, but I don't speak Vietnamese so I don't know the quality of it. And Jungle and landscape is very well made in this game.

You made sure that after your clean install you re-added the game to the exceptions list??

Also does this game require any kind of port forwarding to host games?? I know a few games of old used to require it, such as Empire Eartch, Warcraft 3 etc...

Hi. Thank you for replying.

No, I did not add it to exeption on Anti-Virus software manually. Although every time I click on Vietcong, my software asked me if I want to add to exeption several times, I clicked add to exeption.

I don't know what port forwarding is. I read it on wikipedia but I can't understand. However, I kind of remember one of my family member accessing DSL setting via Internet Browser and adding Vietcong to allowed list.

Yeah that sounds like port forwarding or possibly just making a static IP to me. It is a tad complicated, although this website helps explain it a lot:

Choose your router out of that list (it should be named on the underside of the router). You'll have to also set up a static IP address for this to work:

Also I could not find your game from the list, so you may have to find out what ports need to be forwarded from some forums or google

Thank you Pedz. I think I will try the router and its setting first to see if I can solve this problem.
