PR: V crashes when loading

Whenever I get into a Vietnam server, as the game loads, PR suddenly crashes as soon as it gets to loading the textures.

How did you downlaod PR Vietnam installer? Torrent, or internet download, and if internet, from which
website?
Check your installer's integrity, make sure it didn't have errors in the downloading process:

If no errors in the File hashes, then I suggest deleting the shader cache in your Documents/bf2/ folder.

Also of use is defragging your hard drive. THe shaders files might be highly fragmented.

I downloaded it from Gamefront.

MaSSive;1757304']Lets make sure your file is not altered in any way. We will do this by comparing MD5 checksums from original file and one you have.

For this you will need Hash Calc program. Download it to you desktop unzip it and install it.

Upon opening make sure all is set as on image below



Now click on ... in Data field and navigate to where you saved prv installer and open it.

When done press calculate. It should give you some lines in MD5 and CRC32 fields. This is correct MD5 and CRC32 for the file.

If yours is any different it means its being altered. Redownload from verified source on our download page.

There is possibility that some AV software might do this with game files, so try turning it off while you install.

The codes are correct.

Clear you shader cache located in My Document>Battlefiled2>mods>bf2>cache

Run PR again and try to join server with Vietnam map running.

You might add this at the end of you target line in PR shortcut

It will run PR in windowed mode and should output error if it crashes. Take screenshot of it and post here.

Also what type of AV software do you have?

I can't find any folder labeled cache.

If there is no folder labeled cache that means shader optimization was never done and you are either freshly installing PR or are very new at it. Either way there should be an output error if you run in windowed mode.

Also there should be file called prError.log in your BF2 root folder so open it with notepad and scroll all the way down ( in case its large and post last 4-5 errors by date.

Oh and I forgot to ask, have you ran BF2 at least once to create profile, are you able to start BF2 and play? PR cannot create profiles folders and settings, you must do it from BF2. Also run both as admin.

Do you have it for ALL maps or just one? (Ia Drang has a bug atm)

Do you have an older gfx card by any chance? I believe the ctd on textures with Ia Drang is caused by the envmap and only happens for some older cards..
