Hey guys,
While in game I experience lag, usually right after spawning in for the first time after loading. Also, on some maps like Muttrah, I often (but no always) lag when flying a heli over a lot of objects.
I've noticed a general slowdown in my computer's operation, probably from an aging hard drive (its about 1.5 years old and has used 317GB of 442GB (72%).
Would a new HD help run PR smoother? I know it would start up PR quicker, but would in-game play be smoother?
Laptop Specs:
Intel i5 m 430
ATI Radeon HD 5xxx series
6GB RAM

Try the following:
1. Defragment the HDD Microsoft offers tools for this, and will already be installed on the PC.
2. Delete the BF2 cache (Located in My docs/battlefield2/mods/bf2/cache)
(deleting that folder solved my epic lagg problems, was getting 15fps.. Then deleted that, and was getting 100, so I have no idea what was stored in there

Yes, it will re-generate them on the next map load. Deleting everything in the cache folder gets rid of all the **** that gets accumulated over months of patches, graphics settings changes and general game-play.sr.bambino wrote:can anyone confirm that deleting the bf2/cache is safe?
Its mentioned in the BF2 tweak guide if you want to be even more sure.
