Norwegian static, help/tips?

Post by kerrermanisNL »

Hi everybody I'm creating a static and at this point I've come to the point where I need to do the roof. But I'm quite puzzled on what would be the best method to create it in a effecient manner (since, IMO, it's such a weird shape).

Here is the reference I'm using: Granli m/sokkel er en tomannsbolig fra Norgehus, ett av v?re mange hus
Here are some screenshots from my static (note, still WIP and not optimized etc. Though if you see something that could be optimized please tell me, as well as any other handy tips).

First I'd build the geometry of that protruding attic/3rd floor up to what it looks like in the image, then I'd use the poly creation tool to create the 'outer' roof. The 'inner wall' part can be dropped by maybe 5cm and then you can create the 'inner' roof (what players see from the inside).

It doesn't look like it should be too complicated, just keep the inner & outer faces separate?

Ok, when I get back from dinner with my friend tonight, I'll try to mock up something on photoshop to help you.

I hope this helps. By the way, I'm an epic noob @ modeling, but no one else is helping you so I guess you can choose whether to take my advice or not :)
