I believe several people have encountered this problem, me and a couple of friends included. Does anyone know what might cause this?

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
Well bad PB update caused infamous Lost connection to server when trying to conect first time, but it works for me second time, and I dont have ( now ) that 9014 punkbuster error, which is problem with ppnkbstrB.exe
What you can do is make sure its allowed in firewall, and when you get to server open console ( default ~ key ) and type pb_sleep 500 and after that type pb_savecfg.
After that try and type pb_sleep and see if its displaying value of 500. This is to reduce scans from punkbustrer and decrease possible timeout and kick. This will not work in case server has aggressive pb scanning times and you cant do anything to change it.

Add this to your PR shortcut line
+restart will skip intro
+fullscreen 0 will run in windowed mode
+szx horizontal resolution
+szy vertical resolution
If you get any error on screen post it here.
Code: Select all
/battlefield 2/mods/pr/pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 800 + szy 600+fullscreen 0 will run in windowed mode
+szx horizontal resolution
+szy vertical resolution
If you get any error on screen post it here.

On your desktop,
you should have an icon for PR. It is the gray dogtags icon.
Right Click on the Icon, click on properties.
Look for the Target Line:
it will look like the Code above. Add the code after the pr.exe"

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
Unistalled and reinstalled PB, ran PBSVC and PBSETUP still getting various kicks for Packet loss.
Also a new thing whenever I first click to join a server it say 'you've lost internet' (which I haven't) then when I reclick a second times it always joins.

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
my solution to this is to first click on a random server which will lead to said error and after that choose the server that i want to play on.PLODDITHANLEY wrote:Also a new thing whenever I first click to join a server it say 'you've lost internet' (which I haven't) then when I reclick a second times it always joins.
aint that super creative?!

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
LOL. Yes it's not a big issue, but the fact it's started recently confuses me.
My key packet loss has gone away, someone said it's worth restarting PR when it happens once.
I I get it again I'll:
1. Exit PR
2. Run PBSVC (Google)
3. Run PBSETUP (Google)
4. Relaunch PR
I know my firewall is OK having PBstrngA and B as exceptions.

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
I've been having this issue as well. It is frustrating, but it seems to have something to do with punkbuster and not with us, as non of us have changed anything to cause it.
From what I hear is that if you do not restart PR and Mumble, you'll be kicked again shortly after. I do not know the cause or solution.

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
I'm getting CTD'd right after I launch the mod and I've tried the window solution, but it says it's not the correct file path and will not allow it.
I guess I'll just have to wait.

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
I had this issue quite a bit, but I think I have it fixed by running Vista Anti-Lag and WLAN Optimizer at the same time... even though I am on Windows 7. But I contacted PB via support tickets and this is what they sent me. If anyone is still having this issue can you try and do this?
"Join a PB server, and drop the console with ~, then type
pb_logtofile 1
and then
pb_writecfg
Wait until you get kicked. Now check your ..\pb folder for a file called pbcl.log If you have hidden your file extensions, please make sure you open pbcl.log and not pbcllog.cfg! or pbcl.db Paste the line from there into a new note.
Please note: Users of Windows Vista and above will find that file under "C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\[game]\pb". To find that folder, enter "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\" to the navigation bar in your Windows Explorer, as some folders in this path might be hidden folders. Unless you activated the option to see hidden folders, you will need to enter the correct path directly into the navigation bar.
In case the kick occurs too fast to type the commands, go to your PB folder and create a plain text file "pbcl.cfg" in it (use a text editor like "Notepad", make sure it has no additional '.txt' extension). Put the text "pb_logtofile 1" as a single line to it. Then save the file and join a PB enabled server. After getting kicked, you should have a file "pbcl.log" in the PB folder."

Re: PB losing key packet 9014
hey shwedor....i dont understand what this is suppose to do. is it suppose to fix the problem or just make a log of it or what....forgive me, im not very.......s m a r t i guess, ill try and give it a shot.
because u say "enter game, go into console type pb_logtofile 1 and pb_writecfg, then get kicked, check a file called pbcl.log, paste the line from there into a new note", is that it.......or am i missing something or not reading it right?
and in case that IS it then what does having a pbcl.log do....thx in advance for any clarification.
i guess what i am wondering mainly about is the "new note" should it be just a "note pad" and what should i name it, where should i put it....in the same folder?
also...couldnt find any working links for Vista Anti Lag. i will try wlan optimizer
edit: wlan optomiser didnt work alone.....had the normal packet loss disconnect and the wierd thing was it happened to multiple people at the same time......so could it be the server.....????
