Can't join server until 2nd attempt

It's been like this for a week now. I open the serverbrowser, choose a game to join, but then gives me a "you got disconnected" message. I try again and it works without issues. It's like that every time now.

I haven't change my firewall settings, haven't installed anything new. No idea why it does this. Sure I can play, but it's very annoying.

Anyone else get this?

I know a whole bunch of us in OD-S have been having this same problem. What I do is attempt to join an empty server first, then join the server I want to get in.

This issue arose with the latest punkbuster update.
There is nothing the DEV or the Support team can do about it.

Pls DEVs, contact the responsible persons (from Evenbalance/Punkbuster??? Or is it @ EA central, the servers? Once some years ago there was a big change with issues on servers cause by EA server change or so... I remember that. Might be connected to each other...)

There is not much we can do. Addressing to Evenbalance as entity or mod team has no priority whatsoever, and they treat us all the same.

What we can do is open support ticket and hopefully they will fix it...someday.

To me it looks like a problem in relation Microsoft - Evenbalance - Certificate Authority and might have nothing to do with support/developing team, but is pure business. Wont go much into that, since its just speculation.

I got the strange feeling that by that thing EA or whoever/whatever company is checking/creating a statistic of how many players still play BF2/Mods/PR or in detail, I mean, how often players still join online servers...

They don't need anything for that, they'll just check the gamespy servers (or whatever they're called).

It's not a huge deal. All it does is delay you from playing like 15 seconds earlier.

It's also really annoying when trying to get first in 63/64 servers...

Just remember to try to connect to a server before auto-deploying. That way you'll get in instead of losing connection when you've got a slot on the server you're trying to deploy to.

Note #2: Ok, I need some log information from you. I want you to do the following:

Join a PB server, and drop the console with ~, then type

pb_logtofile 1

and then

pb_writecfg

Wait until you get kicked. Now check your ..\pb folder for a file called pbcl.log If you have hidden your file extensions, please make sure you open pbcl.log and not pbcllog.cfg! or pbcl.db Paste the line from there into a new note.
Please note: Users of Windows Vista and above will find that file under "C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\[game]\pb". To find that folder, enter "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\" to the navigation bar in your Windows Explorer, as some folders in this path might be hidden folders. Unless you activated the option to see hidden folders, you will need to enter the correct path directly into the navigation bar.

In case the kick occurs too fast to type the commands, go to your PB folder and create a plain text file "pbcl.cfg" in it (use a text editor like "Notepad", make sure it has no additional '.txt' extension). Put the text "pb_logtofile 1" as a single line to it. Then save the file and join a PB enabled server. After getting kicked, you should have a file "pbcl.log" in the PB folder.
