If you're thinking of an illegal copy of the game, then no. You must have a legit version of Battlefield 2 in order to play Project Reality.

Ofcourse, if a friend of yours has BF2 that he doesnt need anymore, you can ask him. You need original serial number to paly PR, the game can be obtained in any way, point is in the serial.

As others have stated, you should get the original version of BF2, either from a store, through origin, through steam, or of course from a friend, as long as it's legally obtained.
