Project Reality Major Lag

Post by AdrianC1 »

I can't play project reality because my fps drops to 14-16. I love this mod so much but I can't play it because of the lag. My Graphic Drivers are Updated.I checked on Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements and it says my laptop pass recommended. Here are my specs

Win7 Ultimate 32 bit
Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600@ 2.20 GHz

My settings in game are low in everything and view distance scale is set to 70 but it does not seem to work.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this I think you should post this in the PR BF2 support section. In any case thing is you don't have a very good graphics card for gaming on your laptop but I must ask, do you have performance issues on normal battlefield 2?

Project Reality have much bigger requirement than normal BF2. You can try setting lighting to medium(it can give few FPS compared to low). But best solution is to buy new computer.

And don't say that you can't play PR with 14-16 FPS, because I'm playing it with so few for over 2 years and I get used to it. It's hard to kill somebody, but if you play as medic it's sometimes even better, because you stay in cover and try avoid contacts.

My normal bf2 have no issues except when i turn on Dynamic Shadows, Dynamic Lights or Anti Aliasing.Even if i put any one of them on low i will suffer from lag.

It doesn't seem to work but made my lag worse.

You do need a decent standalone GPU, not integrated intel chip.

Again, PR is more demanding than vanilla BF2. You should turn off dynamic shadow and lighting.

what is your ram spex. also im pretty sure that intel chip cant really put up with PR. if this is a PC then i reccomend posting full specs and budget and we can find you a GPU to buy to increase performance, if its a laptop youll just have to get a better one.

Have you turned view range to 50%?

My Ram is 3GB. If you are talking about my dedicated video ram it is 1.3 GB after updating my driver

It seems to help a little.

Try this :

"1_ Right-click the speaker icon in the lower right corner.
Select Playback Devices from the menu. A list of devices should appear on the screen.
Double-click the device that has a green checkmark. The properties windows for that device should open.
Click the Enhancements tab at the top.
From the list of enhancements, uncheck all of them, or click the Disable all enhancements checkbox.
Click the OK button to save your changes and close the window.
Click OK to close the Playback Devices window.
2_ Right-click the speaker icon in the lower right corner.
Select Recording Devices from the menu. A list of devices should appear on the screen.
Double-click the device that has a green checkmark. The properties windows for that device should open.
Click the Microphone Enhancements tab at the top.
From the list of enhancements, uncheck all of them, or click the Disable Microphone enhancements checkbox.
Click the OK button to save your changes and close the window.
