Mobo manual
Download Manual : ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download M5A97 PRO
Online manual (Bad quality for page 40):Asus M5A97 PRO | User Manual
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING PAGES FROM MOBO MANUAL BEFORE ANSWERING
page 12 note : "2x chasis fan connector (1x 4pin, 1x 3pin)"
Also read page 15 about: DIGI+ VRM where it talks about PWM
Page 40: shows all the diagrams about the fans ports
I want to buy a cooler with fan control which is moderated by the built in ASUS software "fan Xpert" software
I was about to buy the following cooler
COO-XPF120.R.PWM
But then i started to worry, my case Elite Master 430 has up to 5x 120mm fan support and 1x 140 fan support
Elite 430 Black - Cooler Master
Thus the questions are:
1. I do not know how many 120mm fans my computer can support as there are (molex and PWM) splitter cable for the fans (in the market) which makes me wonder whether i can support more than the 2 Chassis fan as i read in my manual. Da fudge???
3. If my computer can support more fans than the 2 stated, would be possible to adjust their speed automatically with the built in ASUS "Fan Xpert" software.
3.Also the cooler i was about to buy has PWM support but when you scroll down(on the cooler link) it says "Fan Control: No"........ Is that a fan speed control yes or a no ?? Please clarify
4. Where is the connector for my PWM cables if my motherboard does support it. I cannot find this is motherboard overview page 20.
5. "2x chasis fan connector (1x 4pin, 1x 3pin)"
When you look at the diagram (page 40) the 2x chassis fan connector are completely different, but do both still support fan control???
6. Does the Amps dictate how many i can install as on Page 40 it says" CPU_FAN supports maximum of 1A(12W) fan power".... Does this apply to Chassis fans ASWELL???
Currently without load my 5770 is at 50-55 Centigrade with 41% GPU fan speed and increases to 70-75C with automatic fan control under FULL load.
And my CPU is at 35C without load with Xigamteck Aegir SD128264 which is 15C cooler than with stock cooler.
I do agree that the higher than standard temp might be due to about 5cm ventilation space from the case
Thank you from your time
