Hi guys,
Very excited to play this mod for the first time! I have installed an old deluxe copy of BF2 that includes the special forces expansion. Do I need to uninstall the expansion to use project reality will it not matter?

It doesn't matter, just make sure you install the patches and PR in the correct order.
Follow this exactly:
How to Install Project Reality
After you've installed everything, but before you start up Project Reality the first time, open up BF2 and create an account for BF2. You can then start up project reality and log into that account. Project Reality can't create the account files properly yet, so it will crash your game if you don't do it through BF2 first
