Help!! My gun sometimes fires!

Post by skunder12 »

I dont know if there is something wrong with my PR settings or? I am running Pr on my samsung laptop. Games, maps, ect. everything seems to run fine. However, when I am using my gun, (any gun) it advertently or accidently fires off rounds WITHOUT me pressing the Left click button on my mouse? This happens alot when Im playing. This is getting anyoying and my fellow players are asking me why am I shooting at them..I do not have, I think, secondary settings on any of the control buttons in Project Reality active, would this be something in BattleField2 or? Settings in my video card? Help!! :o

Quick question, do you by chance use a mouse when playing?

If you haven't disabled your touchpad, the WSAD claw has the tendency to tap the touchpad with your lower thumb. This would be registered as a click on some pads, and thus would shoot.

Hi thanks for your reply..This has been frustrating particularly when I have been playing and my some of my team players wonder why I am shooting for no reason! Yes i do play with a mouse and I thought that my touch pad gets disabled automatically when I plug in my mouse...How and where do i disable my touch pad when my mouse gets plugged in? What is the wsad claw?

I don't have heaps of experience with laptops, but I know Dells don't automatically disable the touchpad. A quick google suggests that Lenovo pads might auto-disable. Give it a test the next time you're at the computer (try using the touchpad while the mouse is plugged in). If it isn't disabled....

Try this method [Link], if not, we can look at manually disabling it (with a hammer :P jk jk) for troubleshooting purposes.

Hey thanks it worked! Yes I had to go in manually and disable my touch pad. No hammer! ha. But now I cant use my mouse to scroll through my weapons with the mouse nor be able to zoom in on the map while playing. I can use the numbers along the keyboard to scroll through the weapons, but it would be easier to use the mouse. Any suggestions? There are no secondary controls selected and tried doing this while playing. Thanks for your help

Does the scroll wheel work fine in other applications (like when browsing the internet etc)?

inside PR, manually remap your mouse scroll wheel using the secondary key, for your scroll key.

not a beautiful solution, but it's quick and easy.
