best budget graphic card?
What is the best video card out there for the money at the moment? I haven't paid attention to this market for a long time so I'm quite baffled about the prices and the requirements. I have a psu on 500 watts so cards that requires more than that can be neglected

Re: best budget graphic card?
Keeping in your PSU wattage,
Radeon HD7770 with non-reference cooling is the cheapest card that will run for the next 18 months. Very conservative power consumption.
A used Radeon HD7850 1GB. Uses more Wattage.
A used GTX 560 or GTX 560 or GTX 560 Ti 448 cores is also a good option. Uses more Wattage though.
The entire budget segment of the GTX 600 series is overpriced in the US right now. It is inevitable the GeForce GTX 650 Ti is going to be lowered in price during Christmas sales season, but it still draws more Watts than the HD 7770.

And lastly, make sure your PSU has enough connectors for video cards:
PSU REQUIREMENTS - RealHardTechX
You can buy adapters such as molex to PCIe 6 pin and molex to PCIe 8 pin though, but have to then check watts on each rail.
This link also has all the recommended wattage ratings for each GPU on the market...

Also, don't be tempted to buy the GTX 640 , it really is a bad GPU, go with the HD6770 if that is your budget.

Re: best budget graphic card?
Thanks for the detailed answer. Wish I could have me one og those gtx 660 but the price gange is just insane, not to speak og the requirements to the psu.
Question is if there's going to be a drop in prices after christmas.
Also, my mobo supports crossfire but is it something that is even possible with a psu on 500 watts? And when don you really need two cards anyway??

Re: best budget graphic card?
Your first instinct was correct, it's not worth attempting crossfire with a 500W PSU.
There is always a price drop after New Years Day.
For GPUs for the last 4 years or more, General rule in the USA is the sale price on the last Monday of November is the regular price the last week of January.
