How To Place Accurate Map Markers

Post by DDS »

All,

Absolute Killer showed me this a couple years ago but I still see people place markers (observe, move, attack, mortars) that are inaccurately placed when viewed on the map.

There is a way to get accurate enemy markers by following these steps below. I used mortars for this example.

Image

  1. Use radio/binoculars/mouse to make your targeting mark (observe, move, attack).
  2. Note the range to target on your map
  3. Accurately line up towards the mark with radio/binoculars and select your range (distance) to target.
  4. Important: Move forward or backward with your move key "W" one step
  5. While still lined up on the mark use your radio/binoculars to select the item you want to target - Mortars (air-burst, he, smoke) Tank, Jeep, Infantry... etc.

Your enemy markers (tanks, jeeps, infantry. etc.) and location of incoming mortars location will be accurate and it will greatly help the team.

Thanks. Most new players don't know about this and it's always good to reinforce something that isn't in the manual.

Nice tip, you'd be surprised the number of people who don't know or forget this kind of stuff.

I play PR for a long time now, and I heard about that only a month ago.
Dont expect everyone to know such things (is it described in the manual?)

When the devs update the field manual (if they do it), they should put this inside.
And some more tips and stuff.. :-D

lol I'm learning stuff now and then. Thats normal.

I hope people still teach new people how to do things instead of just getting their killz n' shit.

No one knows every little detail of this game. A few weeks ago I noticed at rounds end the games won and lost tally at the top of the scores screen. Never noticed that before.
Couple days ago I'm waiting to move from spawn as civilian for 1 minute and said as much. Teamate goes, "just look at the game timer count down" Doh! "oh yeah, thanks"
