Disallowed Program/Driver [80251]

Post by Cassius »

Recently I get kicked every time with the above error message from any server. I tried reinstalling BF2 and PR, but nothing.

I recently installed Desura, Dropbox and MSN. Could any of those harbor the disallowed program?

Kill their processes before running PR, and find out :)

Someone going on about a rootkit issue, but not sure.

That is also a error code if you have an disallowed overlay program running in the background.

I believe your problem is the steam overlay, if you do have that running in the background (Shft+tab when in game) turn it off and your problem should be fixed! If not sorry.

Steam In-Game is one thing that could kick you, another thing could (rarely but the Xfire Overlay).

And last Teamspeak 3 Overlay, some people accidentally activate it during the Teamspeak 3 Installation.

If you dont have any of these installed/running while ingame then ofc you're sure this is not your source

It is possible if you have some sort of screen grab trojan running in background, but that would be a rare thing, this is almost always caused by a disallowed overlay program running.

Overwolf overlay,
TS3 overlay,
Ventrilo overlay,
Asus AI Suite overlay,
MSI afterburner overlay,
Skype overlay,
PlayClaw overlay,
etc.
