Forgotten Hope 2: Project Reality Mini-Mod
Is this even possible?
Maybe we could hire the A-Team and steal all their maps and models...
Idk... either way I fantasize about this every day.

Well actually we could mod FH2 while using all their stuff and changing the gameplay. But that would need people to download FH2... so way less players would play Project Reality : FH2 lol.

There are still mods out there with statics that PN could be grateful for. It is entirely dependable of their generosity though. No need to bring FH2 to this.

Or I have a very recent and printed memory of FH2 devs declining all the French Hope maps and work.[R-DEV]Rudd wrote:i have a vague memory of the FH2 devs putting a stop to a community effort to make FH2 have PR gameplay

Not all of it, just the parts that sucked. Also they never shut down any realism mods. There was one bein planned that I can remember, but it never finished. THe only mod that was ever "shut down" was one that added FH1 content in a misguided effort to "speed up" production of the eastern front.Pvt.LHeureux wrote:Or I have a very recent and printed memory of FH2 devs declining all the French Hope maps and work.

I'm sure they have their reasons regarding French Hope. I was disappointed though, would've loved to see/play that!
The FH2 thing with PR gameplay, there are players who's like to see that, it's just that the developers have no interest in it, they have their own focus on gameplay, which is fine. So if someone is up for it, there's nobody stopping that of course.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2: Project Reality Mini-Mod
Why not just take the models of the weapons, vehicles, and players and stick them in PR normandy? they already have great looking models... jsut needs the code to change the game around.. FH is dying and their devs are too blind to see it. If it was given PR coding you would easily have one of the best games besides Modern combat PR, there is. IMO. Doesnt murder your eyes and you can see things alot clearer.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:I'm sure they have their reasons regarding French Hope. I was disappointed though, would've loved to see/play that!

I wish i had modding skills other wise id start Id just give weapon coding in PR to the weapons in FH. example..
Use the SKS coding for the FH models
m1 garand
g43
m1 carbine
Use the PR enfield coding for
K98
n04
no1
Springfield
Carcano
Use PR MP5 coding for
M1928 thompson
m1 thompson
mp40
sten gun
berretta
Use PR RPK coding for
BAR
Z 26
Bren
Breda
Use PR M60 coding for
M1919
Vickers
Lewis gun
M1917
use PR MG3 coding for
Mg42
MG 34
tanks and vehicles ... uh.. you got that one lol
FH stuff is all going to waste.. it will die no doubt.. every new game that comes out people leave.. sure when FH releases the next update it will be played for a good week... a month if their lucky.. then its back to the 1 full server for part of the day then nothing really.
They might get angry that their models are being used for something else ( give them credit of course) but its all going to waste cause its only going to be a short while before Fh does die out. this kind of refurbished material could see some quality life and play if put into a PR way of play. just IMO.... as bluedrake said.. i wish to see FH quality things in a PR game play. PR normandy i played last night was awesome.. FH just doesnt bring that awesome im looking for like PR/ PRV and PRN bring.

It's called common courtesy. We have to ask them, and if they say no then they say no. Without respect between modding teams the fun is completely lost.
And even mods have licenses, if they make a model then you cannot use it unless they allow you. Grow up please.

If you want a WW2 realism game check out Traction Wars. It's going to be on the CE3 engine and will be a realism game.

Copyright and the Internet
Everything crated by FH2, PR and any other mod out there is protected by international copyright law and "taking" something without full permission can result in lawful action.
This is why you don't see everyone's work in everyone's mod, which would only be bad for everyone tbh even thou at first it might sound really good to some... We and many other mods however do share content in fair exchanges, even with FH2 although they don't like to trade to much, but we have traded their Lee Enfield rifles and a few other things for bushes etc and forgetting the copyright laws, we wouldn't want to look like tards who steal stuff either.

What if I took your maps that you made, and claimed them to be my own work, then got paid for work that you did.[R-CON]rodrigoma wrote: How would it even be bad for everyone?

If by "everyone" you understand the people who create the mods then you are right it would be "bad" for everyone.[R-DEV]Spush wrote:What if I took your maps that you made, and claimed them to be my own work, then got paid for work that you did.
Although what you said happens now anyways?
and what about non-commercial licenses?

Re: Forgotten Hope 2: Project Reality Mini-Mod
The FH2 Devs are blind? They spotted things on a game that stole things from them that I couldn't ever see.
Also, it's not legal, it's not polite, it's being a d*ck.
Forgotten Hope 2 is dying because their player base is basically the same as in other WW2 games, so why would I play FH2 if there is another WW2 game with better graphics and the same things? PR in the other hand, have a solid player base, players that like team-work, and the only game in the same genre and playing style we have besides PR is ArmA, which doesn't mean a HUGE threat for PR.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2: Project Reality Mini-Mod
It would be legal if the fh2.exe was used. That has been mentioned on their forums.
Anything short of that would be at the generosity of their community.
Damn shame as I reckon with the FH2 statics and models coupled with AAS3/PR gameplay it would be one of the best games ever. Their statics are just beautiful.
Creative commons licensing would work quite well.
Awhile FH2 had some of their models stolen for a game (can't recall the name) but the texture sheets still had the artist' signatures on it! Pretty poor in my books.

I just wish PR:N looked like how FH2 does. All of their maps are gorgeous, and their weapons have such power about them imo.

Re: Forgotten Hope 2: Project Reality Mini-Mod
I find the attitude here slightly weird. What is the point of "taking" stuff from other mods? The joy of modding is in creating your own content. That's the whole point, really. Sometimes when I read the forums here I get the idea it's really about organising stuff someone else left lying around

Indeed, but this was a very early stage, I'm sure as PN gets older and gets more and more objects we will see quality in the levels get better and better.titsmcgee852 wrote:I just wish PR:N looked like how FH2 does. All of their maps are gorgeous, and their weapons have such power about them imo.
