[HELP] Random FPS Drop

Post by Blondey »

Okay, hey community! So, i'm really concerned. Sooo, a week ago, on every map, i got around 50 fps playing on PR. But since yesterday, it has been really laggy, and it's been playing at 10 fps on any map! This is really annoying, mainly because it's basically ruined the game for me.. Last week, when playing at 50 fps... my graphics are all medium and effects high, and x8 AA And then yesterday, i DIDN'T change any of the graphics, and the game has just become so laggy all of a sudden. I don't know if it's BF2 v or PR itself. But if anyone has any feedback of what it could be, then PLEASE say - because it is really bugging me.

My PC spec thingies are 4GB of ram.. and my graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6670.

Like i said, it only started having really bad lag yesterday for no reason.

Please help - Thanks :)

If you need any more info to see if you can try and help me, just say

Were you running any programs in the background? I used to use XFire all the time until I realized after 1 or 2 rounds of PR the frame rate would gradually slow to unplayable. It could be something else was eating your ram/CPU and you weren't aware, I would recommend trying Game Booster or something along those lines if the problem persists.

hmmm, it's not xfire or anything, because i did a test with JUST PR running and it still stays at really low FPS - what's Game Booster?

It was iobit but I do believe these Razer guys have taken charge. I just realized that I have been using an older version, I can only assume the newer ones are better (but then again these days you can never tell). It has a lot of tweaks and other such tricks to help keep your system running smoothly even when you're not running the program. Lito is the one who showed me the program after we broke our head trying to figure out my FPS drop issues.

Make sure you have tested and written off any possible hardware issues, this could boil down to your PSU (power supply) not supplying enough electricity to a number of components. If it is indeed a hardware issue (age/cooling/dust/defect) the game booster program would be in vein, and you might want to check out CPUID and just verify that everything checks out. If there are further issues you might have to find a physical solution (smash or repair).
