[HELP] Bf2Editor Crashes

Post by Ason »

Hello. I have been working with the editor for about 2,5 months now without problems, but after I reinstalled windows and set up the editor I have been getting some errors/crashes which I never got before... It has crashed about 3-4 times in 2-3 days. 3/4 times I got a message where I was actually asked if I wanted to save my map before it quits, but this last time it quit leaving me with the choice "quit" only:/ I was stupid enough to not take a screenshot but it was a red icon and it basically gave me a option to just quit the editor.
At the moment it happened I was trying to lower the terrain around a railroad section.

Before I reinstalled windows I had the game installed from CD in a custom folder(not default EAgames) And now after the windows reinstall I had to buy a new copy of the game from Origin so now I got everything in the Origin Games folder, that is the main diffrence I can think of.

I tried to attach the dumpfile but I couldn't attach DMP-files. If someone knows how to attach it please tell me.

EDIT: Alrighty it happened again :D " [Unhandled Exception] The Application has generated an exception and will be closed. Please attach the crash dump to the error report. Open dumpfolder? [Yes/NO]"
This time it happened while I was trying to move a road.

it is a better to move a road spline while disconnected, and never copy-paste a connected spline( it will crash the editor 100%, at least for me).
Also, theres a tutorial on how to set-up editor without having the game installed -HERE. Read it all and you can install the editor wherever you want
