As a community effort to update the Project Reality Manual for the pending release of Project Reality 1.0 , I'm asking PR community members running PR on older and entry level PCs and Notebooks to share their system specifications, their Video.con settings and their Average framerates per second.
If you run PR on High Settings, I don't care about your system.
If you run PR on Medium Settings, I don't care about your system.
If you run PR on all LOW Settings, I DO care about your system.
I'm looking for people running on all low settings that can still consistently play at a decent framerate.
Looking for info on both desktop and notebook systems in this category.
I'm not exactly certain what the minimum specs are, my guess is :
CPU:
Single Core over 3 GHZ
Dual core over 1.7Ghz
Step 2.
Run CPU-Z
Click the Validate Button on the bottom right.
You will be asked to give an email address.
You will next be sent to a url at valid.canardpc.com/[USER_ID]
For example, this is my PC: http://valid.canardpc.com/2747704
Copy this URL and Paste in Answer Box #1.
Step 3.
Go to \Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000X of the profile you use to play PR, and find Video.con
Open Video.con in a text editor, such as Notepad.
Copy the entire page and paste into Answer Box #2.
I play on all low and everything I can are set to "off", a resolution of 1440x900 (with view distance at max) and I'm getting over 25 FPS at any time, except when there is a lot of action going on or when I'm flying extremely fast over a city (Ramiel, Muttrah). This due to my RAM being too slow.
I was playing PR with 2GB @ 400MHz and I couldn't fly chopper because I would crash every time I would fly too fast.
Minimal specs in my opinion:
- at least 256MB of VRAM
- 3GB of DDR2 RAM @ 600MHz
- any dual-core over 1.6GHz could do it
I tried PR on my laptop, but its 64MB of VRAM aren't enough Also, before I got my 210, I was on an nVidia 6150se 256MB and it runned well once I put my 4GB of RAM.
When I'll get a new PSU, I'll run your program and post a message with all the information you want, just wanted to contribute to this anyway
Comments on Framerates: FPS is not a problem except rarely when looking into cities from certain locations (and sometimes being into one).
P.S.
I feel that my laptop is somewhere between Low and Mid, but as it's a laptop, not a machine meant for gaming, I'll rate it as low (as I play with everything on lowest, except something on medium - that thing that everyone has on medium so the game wont crash).
I have a HP Compaq 6710b, I must play everything on low and i still have really low FPS like 5-20. On the Vanilla i play on high and about 30-40FPS

There were massive framerate drop to 13-20 on most city maps when tried to look at map center.
After upgrading to AMD Phenom X4 920, and adding 2 more GB of RAM i'm able to play on mid-to-high settings without crashes and with decent FPS.
So i think it's all about CPU and RAM Frequency.
assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Sure. If possible, name a few maps that do and a few that don't run (or some category, i.e. "4 km maps"), and give us the specs, it'll be helpful.

before my new PC I played with a shitty PC, I still have it but I dont use it anymore:
- AMD Sempron Le 1250 2.2 Ghz singelcore
- GeForce 210, 512Mb/1GB DDr2 (*512 MB card memory supporting 1GB graphics memory in a system with 1GB or more memory system)
- 2GB DDR2 1333Mhz
I played on all low and everything I could was set to "off", a resolution of 1280x720 (max view distance) and I got around 30 FPS, except on Fallujah (5-15 fps), Ramiel, Muttrah, and other city maps. I was always laggy on urban areas and especially on 1 - 2 km maps, in 4 km maps like kashan or yamalia it run smooth, except for Vadso and Burning Sands in the city areas, where my fps dropped at about 10 - 17 FPS
I play on all low and maintain a 10-15 fps. On certain maps with lots of trees like Vietnam it's like 5-6 fps.
Kashan I get 20 Fps and any map like Kashan I get the same Fps.
