Seriously Guys... Greenlight

Post by Bluedrake42 »

I 100% guaran-@#&@%#&-tee you if a Project Reality campaign is started on Greenlight, we will be Steam distributed before the end of the year.

I understand PR1.0 is ABSOLUTELY the focus right now, but shortly after the release, I think there could be no better time than to start a Greenlight campaign.

The Greenlight project is still relatively new, and I think it would be wise to take advantage of that before the voting queues become too saturated with new developers.

We are also in the beginning stages of this mod's sequel, and I think a Steam release will not only bring us a respectable boost in playercount and overall publicity, but could also garner attention from important prospective contributors and developers.

This kind of exposure could vastly impact the ultimate scope and development of PR2.

Just food for thought.

I'd like to add that PR2 on Greenlight (when it comes around) would also be a very good idea. People are always looking for free games. Not to mention free games with exceptional gameplay like PR.

Pretty sure this has been discussed before, i think it was even you who made the last thread.

But it all came down to like some issues with BF2 and EA or something.

"My game is a mod – can I still submit it to Steam Greenlight?
Yes, you can submit your mod to Steam Greenlight, but in order to be launched on Steam you will need to have a full engine license in place for your game. If you are a Source engine mod, we can work with you on this piece, but for other engines you will need to work with them directly."

Yeah I probably did, I forget threads I make sometimes

Anyways I don't understand how you can distribute through desura without an engine license but not through Steam which accomplishes practically the same thing.

However if we do in fact require an engine license from EA, I think we should start a community petition to convince them to let us have one.

that's because you make so many useless threads based on incredibly simple and never thought-threw ideas  Btw this is technically a suggestion to the pr team so it's in the wrong forum.

I think this is possible, it just needs to be arranged with EA/DICE. Which is not impossible, but will probably take a long time to see done. But would indeed be awesome.

And another thread bites the dust, which isn't entirely the OP's fault, to be honest.

Feel free to discuss Greenlight in one of the older threads or create one in the suggestions section.
