Muttrah City
This map has one major "flaw": lack of undergrowth. This city is the cleanest I ever saw.Its near to impossible to set an proper ambush using CE kit, because laying minefields is pointless(well, not really, but I rather kill enemy asset, be it a logi or an apc, instead of just telling him "you cannot pass here, I have mines").
Point being, I think this map needs some dirt, garbage and stuff(undergrowth) to make CE kit more effective.

The city is regarded as pretty clean for the ME. There is also quite a bit of rubbish in the alleyways. But yes, some of the back streets and even main streets could do with more, but in r/l generally mines are laid on concrete/tarmac surfaces and can't be "dug under them" either, nor is it common practice to hide mines in rubbish bags on the streets...
And as Moszeusz said, I never did get round to 100% finishing the map as I envisioned when I set out. Hopefully one day I'll get round to finishing the map but till then you will just have to play with it as it is.

Re: Muttrah City
As Rhino said, the city is in a good shape. I never saw rubbish on the big streets or sidewalks. Inside the city the sidwalks were abit messy, because of all the shops having stuff standing around on it, but I would still not consider it dirty. The urban areas in some city parts looked alittle bedraggled because of the houses, which were not all in a very good shape, but the streets were mostly clean.
Its the narrow streets and alleyways that are missing in PR Muttrah, they would give you good opportunities to ambush. But Muttrah is an AAS map with 2 big armies fighting each other. Ambushing would not fit into gameplay anyways. It always annoys me when USMC lonewolf engi's, camp South City and plant C4 and mines.

I doubt that the garbage collection will be as effective during war as can be seen in the picture...

Indeed hence why I said it could do with some more, but the city has been mostly evacuated after the occupation of the MEC in the likelihood of a NATO attackGeneral_Elbi wrote:I doubt that the garbage collection will be as effective during war as can be seen in the picture...

A few trees and cars left on the main waterfront would be nice additions. I used to like this map. You did a really great job but its overplayed so much now that I cringe when it loads up.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Indeed hence why I said it could do with some more, but the city has been mostly evacuated after the occupation of the MEC in the likelihood of a NATO attack![]()

The city is being liberated in my sub plot so collateral damage would be an issue there.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:Maybe a few craters from the artillery barrage the US sent in before the troops?![]()

Haha, when I was talking to some natives and told them that I am here because of a Game where Americans want to liberate them from their oppression, they looked at me like "wtf are you talking about"?[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:The city is being liberated in my sub plot so collateral damage would be an issue there.

Re: Muttrah City
They possibly thought you meant from their Monarchy
Oman did actually have a very small uprising in the Arab Spring a few years or so back but it didn't turn into much like in Egypy, Libya and Syria etc but that is mainly down to even thou the country being run under a monarchy, its still doing pretty well

Re: Muttrah City
Actually its a sultanate
But yes, besides the UAE, Oman is like the best place in the ME to live in. The sultan invests most of the money, gathered by the oil, in expanding infrastructure and education. Everyone got access to schools, women are equal, are allowed to drive cars, work in government offices etc...population consists mainly of moderate muslims. So yeah, not much reason to replace a stable and working government with chaos and crazy extremists.

Re: Muttrah City
one thing i dont like on muttrah is the fence on the north side of docks. its stupid that you have to drive all the way to the "triangle" to get into docks with apc.
adding a hole near the supply depot would be great imo.

Ye this is something I'm thinking about for Muttrah v2.5, although more along the lines of the fence being destroyableMats391 wrote:one thing i dont like on muttrah is the fence on the north side of docks. its stupid that you have to drive all the way to the "triangle" to get into docks with apc.

Re: Muttrah City
I would like to see some crashed UN evac cars. Maybe some bags and crates from evaced people around. A few craters and next go them a few rubbish objects.
