New and need help (getting PR:BF2 installed on Win7)

Post by Dillon1230 »

So I found my old copy of bf2 in my closet. I'm installing it now and would like to know if I am going to need to use origin to play Project Reality?

If not will I need to make an account on something else because I forget my login info for this cd key.

origin is not needed for PR. If you remember your old account you can use that, if not just make a new one. You can make as many as you want with one cdkey :)

btw this is the wrong forum, you should be looking in PRBF2 support forums.

so,
install bf2
install patch 1.41 and 1.5
install PR .097 (3 install files)
install PR .0.98 (1 install file)
install PR MUMBLE BETA 1.0 -a much needed voice program, mandatory on the better servers (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f196-p ... 1-0-a.html)

read around on the forums, and learnthe manual. Then go and play If it's your first time just let your SL know and he'll teach you the basics. Since you are from canada I recommand to look for the CIA and HOG servers, they are the most stable and have a active community. Have fun!

make sure you make your profile in Vanilla bf2 and log in at least once with it before starting PR. If you run win8,check this thread:

try installing it in winxp SP3 compatibility mode.

You can try to contact EA if you disk is broken, if you can show them you own the game legit, then they might give you a digital copy. If not there are other ways to get a install CD or file for BF2 and then use your legitimate CDkey with it, you don't have to use that CD if it's broken.
