Two seat PRbot suggestion
Good Day Gentlemen,
I would like to propose an Idea which should not take allot of time but would make movie making so much easyer for us wannabe directors.
Could you implement a two seated PRbot into the game, one player as the driver, another cameraman/gunner?
The problem with two prbots that are in the game now, they are good for wide shots, flybys and nothing to precise, but when you need to move the camera in a specific track its practically impossible. Thats why a seperate "driver" would be extremely helpfull, he could focus on camera movement while the cameraman could focus on the action itself.
This is not a high priority thing but just it would make filming even more fun and should not be too hard to implement.
Cheers! Have a great day
Sincerely,
*NwA* Lordas

Re: Two seat PRbot suggestion
very nice idea! I also see it's usage where the driver moves forward, but the camera man looks to the side. Kinda like a camera dolly.

You would need a lot more cameramen but think it would be good to have the option. Possibly also an idea to have more than 2 seats while we are at it?

Two seats should be more than enough for a start I think
we loose one actor in exchange for precise camera work

You don't have to use the extra seats, just having the option could be useful at some point, even if only transporting actors to other parts of the map so not everyone has to spawn their own prbot to do so which can lead to prbots floating about if they fly off after spawning which they sometimes do

While we are at it; why not give PR bot some weapons?
Such as old molotov scripts for spawning patches of fire...etc. for the effect?
Maybe also able to shoot no-bulletdrop smoke grenades(perhaps with bigger smoke too?) and coloured smoke for more precise placement of them?
Maybe some cannons that shoot 0 damage explosive rounds for extra explosions like in third-grade movies?
And machineguns with no suppression effect + no damage/collision to players?
Give every seat a few of these so people can add all sorts of effects to video without having to coordinate things such as mortar just to film a squad of guys charging through mortar fire...etc.?

That is actually a superb idea mate, but I don't think It would be that easy to implement it tho...ComradeHX wrote:While we are at it; why not give PR bot some weapons?

Re: Two seat PRbot suggestion
I like the idea, prbot should be a two seater vehicle, it would fly just like it is now, and if it is possible make the PRbot2 move like a vanilla BF2 tank/apc, use you "wasd" keys to drive while you move your camera with the mouse, more likely lik the current one but more intuitive

Re: Two seat PRbot suggestion
we need pr bots with hellfires!!!!
on a serious note, i think it would also be nice if the cameraman could do slow (if not variable-speed) zooming. that way you could pretty much film anything. driver would pan while camera man could zoom. every camera should could then be covered. this would obviously be harder to implement than just the second seat, not sure if worth it.

Great ideas, those will certainly come in handy not only for recording videos but also for training purposes (the multiple seat PRBOT).

Jafar, you always were one of the best players I've ever had the fortune to know and play with and against. This just goes to show how awesome a Dev you are, keep up the good work![R-DEV]Jafar Ironclad wrote:Way ahead of you.![]()
