Closing to desktop before fully loading

I've installed the beta on one PC and it works fine on there.

As it had some difficulties downloading the updates, I cloned the pr_beta folder to my other PC. On there, after clicking Play from the launcher, it shows the spinning dogtags briefly (after a long black screen but I get that on my working PC and I see there might be a fix for that https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-pr ... creen.html ) and then it closes to desktop after briefly showing a message saying something like "Checking PR integrity".

Vanilla BF2 still runs fine on both PCs. I noticed that on the 2nd PC, pr_beta\settings was missing a Usersettings.con, so I copied that from the 1st PC, changing the GSPlayerName as appropriate but it still does the same thing.

The first time I ran the Launcher on the 2nd PC, it did go through the Import profile procedure, as it did on the 1st PC.
