[Official] MV-22 Osprey feedback
Post any feedback you have regarding the vehicle here. This is unlike any aircraft you've flown thus far in standard release.

Seems like the current solution is the best, good job!

Re: [Official] MV-22 Osprey feedback
It looks good.
It's very easy to fly, easier than i expected.
it stutters a bit when flying with good speeds...
it can take off vertical too quickly... after few seconds.
The collision mesh is glitchy especially when it comes to landing near trees...... makes it bounce like a ball.
The engine sound sometimes doesnt turn off when you exit as pilot.
otherwise great aircraft... i love the "landing gear" indicator.

it's amazing ,it's fast ..
it doesn't need time to worm up and it have 2 crates ..
very helpfull for the USMC team
loved it .

It can also lift vertical even just after going full speed horizontal... not realstic.

So when you exited the aircraft, you fell through the carrier?Maj.Osama wrote:

Re: [Official] MV-22 Osprey feedback
the gunner on the Mi-24v can shred up the osprey very quickly. Had the Osprey smoking pretty bad in just a short time from very far away yet it survived because he was so close to the carrier anyways.

Re: [Official] MV-22 Osprey feedback
It seems pretty weak. I was on the doorgun while another person was flying it and we ended up taking some small arms fire on the belly of it. I'd say about 1 mag worth of AK fire and the next thing we knew the Osprey was smoking and eventually caught on fire.

the code tells me something different though, unless you haven't been damaged (like a too hard landing etc.) before already.I'd say about 1 mag worth of AK fire and the next thing we knew the Osprey was smoking and eventually caught on fire.
but yeah, thanks for posting anyways, I've found another issue with it while looking into your report.

Yeah maybe the pilot nicked a tree or something. Not really sure.[R-DEV]K4on wrote:the code tells me something different though, unless you haven't been damaged (like a too hard landing etc.) before already.

I tried it out a minute ago, flew it only like two minutes and it seems pretty cool! Just need to get used to its physics now

Re: [Official] MV-22 Osprey feedback
I loved flying MV-22 during the beta. It was noticeably faster than the other transports in the air, but slower at landing, like it should be. It should be riskier to get more supplies out to the battlefield. I really liked it a lot!

Re: [Official] MV-22 Osprey feedback
I ported the V22 into an "edit" version of PR .98 and have been practicing a lot with it. Finally figured the HUD out thanks to a little .txt file I found in there
First off, thank you thank you thank you for bringing this awesome aircraft to PR, I feel like I'm a terminator in 2050 hunting for humans... Also going through the code, I have high hopes for the "Guardian" version.. gatling and 30mm, yummy yummy ;P
It's taken down relatively easy, especially when transitioning. Small arms damage seems to be alright but a quick burst from the BTR = insta death.
Hover mode is very stable as long as you don't lean to either side too much. My only complaint in this area is the buffer time between letting off vertical thrust and the plane settling. This is probably to aid in transitioning, but can be rather annoying otherwise.
Transition time seems right on, as IRL it takes around 12 seconds, I counted around 10 seconds. It takes a lot of getting used to in order not to overshoot the landing. "Feathering" between hover and forward is the only way to control it.
Takeoff is my biggest concern. IRL, the Osprey transitions seamlessly from hover to plane mode without having to nose up, loose altitude, or decrease speed. In game, all of this happens. In order to take off without loosing altitude, you have to use that "buffer" while transitioning from "s" to "w" and nose up quite a lot in order to not dip down like the harrier, while also loosing airspeed. Add a little rudder action and you will be in the ground.
I think a solution would be to allow 20-30 degrees of tilt in either direction while in hover mode, depending on how much pitch is added and the airspeed you have achieved. Then the forward speed for hover mode would be increased to offset it's current sluggishness and the plane wouldn't loose altitude and "pause" as bad when transitioning. I also say tilt in the opposite direction as IRL Opsrey nacelles can tilt backwards to give opposite thrust for flying backwards or reducing forward speed.
Also, IRL Osprey suffer from disk loading due to the folded size restrictions by USMC, I know the effects are possible in BF2 and it would look super cool to have corkscrew vertices trailing off the rotors...
Other than that I'm super excited for 1.0 when I will dedicate a squad to securing a good LZ and building a super fob to defend that LZ...Thanks again for this awesome addition to PR!

Could use a training video for new pilots (saw a few crashes from clueless pilots).
