i loved the pressure plate. thought it was a creative solution combined with the cairn stones. i do think that the artillery ied should stick around, at least. it's one of the most common ied configurations. one place where it should be adjusted is it's damage radius against heavier armors. direct hits (inside 20m) should still harm tanks and at least get ifv's cooking, but non-direct hits shouldn't do near as much damage as they do currently. a 30m kill radius on transport/logistic trucks does make sense, however. in specifically targeting mbt's or apc's we should be using efp's. all of this takes a more diverse toolbox and a degree of planning and logistics, which are all part of what makes PR stand out in the crowd so well.
i imagine the following: 1) sapper kit, primarily anti-infantry focused. pressure plates, low-yield maiming devices. one type of command detonated ied with the focus on transport vehicles/logi's/infantry. 2) limited availability advanced sapper kit. command detonated high-yield ied's and a new efp that is effective on all vehicles (in the way that current artillery ieds's are now). anti-tank mines for area denial.
in this way, the sapper is targeting specific threats with varying degrees of effectiveness depending on what tools they've chosen to use and where they're placing their strings. it's a small change on the current militia forces, but would better reflect reality.

IMO it would be cool to have a AP sapper with mortar IED and maybe pressure plate and in the alternative kit a AT sapper with EFP IED
(Explosively formed penetrator Explosively formed penetrator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and maybe something else.
While the AP sapper has his mortar IEDs against inf and light vehicles (truck, hummvee),
the AT sapper can even destroy tanks with his EFP IED. Of course it wouldnt be effective against inf because of the non existing splash damage.

specialized operators targeting specific threats. i like what you're saying with the ap layout. maybe they could inherit the traditional pipebomb ieds that sappers use currently.2) limited availability advanced sapper kit. command detonated high-yield ied's and a new efp that is effective on all vehicles (in the way that current artillery ieds's are now)
